This is pretty easy to work with. The instructions are very simple and the option of being able to not only do rounds, but to have it to stop to do "flat panels" is a major plus. You have to work with it to get used to how it operates and discover the speed for the yarn, so you don't drop any stiches. It does a nice job, all the stiches are even and with the flip of the little switch on the side, you can do the flat (square) panels. That will take a touch of practice and learning the individual machines speed for the type of yarn you will be using.I have both the King size and this one, of which they both operate the exact same. I highly recommend this for your projects, but I also want to stress, you must practice with it and get the feel of how it operates, before you make any final projects. As with everything, you must experiment with it before you have exactly what you hope to accomplish with it. The small one is large enough to do scarves or baby caps and small flat panels, but if you want to use this, straight from the knitter, for an adult size knitted hat, it won't fit an adult head with this diameter. What you can do is, run the lengths through for an adult head and then put them side by side to crochet or knit together. The King size Addi, this will most definitely fit an adult head and still give you some flexibility with your cap. It is also fabulous for making sleeves to sweaters, if you want to do sweaters, with the sleeves fitting the arms with a loose or roomy fit. This small unit will do very well for socks, baby clothes (sleeves) or multi-tube scarves. These units are not cheap made and the quality of the design is well thought out. But, once again, before you make a final judgement on how it works, play with it for a bit to see what the individual unit does and determine the speed to turn the handle, as the thickness of your yarn will make all the difference on the speed of turning it.It does take patience to get the hang of it, but once you do, you will use it all the time. I also use the flat bed knitters, that you mount to a table and slide back and forth, so I'm experienced in what works and doesn't with these kinds of knitting units.Patience is the key to make it work exactly the way you want it too.Thanks.

After a lot of research, I chose this machine because of the better overall reviews on YouTube. So far, it has worked well for me as a beginner and I foresee that I will be investing in the King model soon for larger projects. It runs smoothly, producing uniform stitches and hasn't been too picky with yarn types. The only complaint I have is the instruction booklet is nearly useless; thank goodness for YouTube videos and the experience of others. The seller I purchased through had the best price, albeit a longer delivery time, but I was willing to wait 2 weeks to save $50+, although it did arrive 4 days earlier than expected. My best advice before buying a circular knitting machine is to know what you want to make with it and watch a lot of YouTube videos so you know the differences between manufacturers/models and what nuances to expect for each brand/model.

The cast on row HAS to be done so loose but make sure the needles catch the yarn, only with the Addi 22 pin. If you have the Addi 26 needle it is cast on regular with tension. After that row it is such fun knitting a project in such a short amount of time. I no longer knit with two needles. With Arthritis and Carpal tunnel the Addi is the best knitting machine because of the larger round handle. It is more pricey, but we all know you get what you pay for. I hear so many people jumping and getting the Sentro and most of them are so dissatisfied with that product. Well Happy Knitting, and enjoy the proces.

Unfortunately, my return window for this item passed by 2 weeks, and though I was interested in an exchange, I was told it wouldn’t be possible. After an unavoidable delay on my end, once I tried this small Addi I discovered it had issues that included inconsistent snagging of yarn, and extremely tight needle action, to the point that I expected needle breakage to occur as I cranked carefully. I have the Addi Express King and haven’t had any issues. I so hoped this would provide the same experience and was surprised when it didn’t. I’ll try another small Addi at my expense because I believe this defect is not the norm. I’ll also pay more attention to the return window date.

Item arrived before expected time and as described. I got the bigger version for christmas and had to have this little guy. I absolutely LOVE this machine. It is the perfect size to make socks and scarves for kids. I am currently in the process of making a blanket with it. It is easy to use once you understand how to cast on. I highly recommend this product

Rarely drops stitches if you use something that has some stretch to it. Do not advise cotton, bamboo, etc. Used a thicker #4-5 yarn and snapped a needle right off.I've made lots of premie hats on this with ease. The flat panels are definitely a learning curve a lot more than the circular. Just a bit more to make sure the edges are working correctly and not dropping. I've made bunnies on this (and a big poofy dinosaur on the king size.I use this size a lot for making dye blanks. Wind into tubes, dye yarn, and pull out and roll into balls to use on a project. The winding does do some harsh wear on your shoulder. Needs an adapter for most yarns to help with tension. You can find a tension fork here on Amazon for cheap.

The first addi came to me few days ago and the handle came broken and I'm sure maybe from the shipment *shrugs*. I contact the seller and the seller was all nice about returning and sending a new addi machine and I returned the damaging addie. The new addi came to day and nothing was broken and the machine is working. :) Thank you so much!PS: I had the new addi for awhile and it works perfect!

I couldn't decide which of the 22 pin knitting machines to buy but am so glad that I spent a bit more to get the Addi. The only vaguely annoying thing about it is the slight resistance it gives as it triggers the counter, but otherwise it is absolutely amazing. It can easily handle yarns that my Sentro 48 could not. If and when my Sentro 48 gives up, I will definitely upgrade to the Addi King size as well.

I also a 48 sentro but this is built really much better, works really well if you know how to use it.Trick is to cast on loose really loose first down and go really slow for the first 5 rounds
