How to Judge the rainfall with our rain gauge?
Below is rainfall grade boundary standard FYI (measured by 1d or 24h)
1. Light rain: 1d(or 24h) rainfall less than 10mm
2. Moderate rain: 1d(or 24h) rainfall 10-25mm
3. Heavy rain: 1d(or 24h) rainfall 25-50mm
4. Torrential rain: 1d(or 24h) rainfall 50-100mm
5. Downpour rain: 1d(or 24h) rainfall 100-200mm
6. Heavy downpour: 1d(or 24h) rainfall above 200mm

The numbers are nice size and with the blue line going up, really makes it easy to read from in the house

We have run through a few rain gauges because the metal holders rust and the markings rub off. Not this one. It seems to be made of more durable materials. Or maybe we wised up and quit sticking them in the ground and now put it in a small hole drilled into the wood deck. At any rate, I could do without the blue stripe on the tube but I understand how it makes reading it at a distance easier. Recommended for durability.

Love it. So easy to assemble; easy to read and so happy I purchased. We have a rain gauge, weather station, but never know just how much rain water is actually getting to an area in the front of our house. This rain gauge is a rain changer... Yep! Though a weather station is wonderful to have; nothing like actually measuring an area you need to keep an eye on.
