I have multiple Minuteman firebacks, and they are a good value and substantial. They sometimes come with a bit of the paint rubbed off higher relief areas because the packaging is not great and they weigh a lot. That's mostly irrelevant unless you're using them as decoration only. Otherwise, it's hard to tell once they're used as intended, becoming sooty, etc.

This fireback is not only attractive, but it is very effective at radiating heat back into our family room. It's much warmer than the fireplace bricks alone. I think this is due to its heavy weight (55 lbs) and its larger size compared with many other firebacks. It fits perfectly in our standard-size fireplace, resting on the firebox floor and against the back wall.

The company sent me absolutely flat , plain , no any pattern casting on “ metal piece “ . And besides it’s pretty much pricey . Decorating matters !
