Purchased to remove MMI from Audi to replace the heater blower and they did a great job.I wasn't sure how to insert them so I did it wrong the first time and I was afraid they'd break but they didn't.Great value for the money.Easy to use.Good quality.Handles were soft and comfy.

Used to remove radios and climate control modules from a variety of vehicle dashboards. If you know what this is you know how to use it yet it still comes with simple and easy to understand instructions. The one question is, does it fit your vehicle. This review is to relate that they do fit a 1998 Mercedes E-400. Simple, easy to use and works like a charm.

I just had to make a review on this product because I have rarely seen such a simple device designed so poorly. As they come out of the factory they will not even fully function with my Audi MMI unit (MMI 3G Nav+/MMI 3G+). They will slide into the slots, and they will release the clip to remove the unit, however, there will be a world of trouble if you manage to press the tool into the headunit enough to latch because this tool will not be removable.First issue is, the ramp is too tall, and doesn't have allowance for the tool to engage with the clip, and also slide into the headunit far enough to engage with the notch in the tool. I had to modify the tool, and file off a significant portion (about 1 mm of material) off the ramp to allow for the tool to be properly inserted into the clip in the unit. The tool's ramp is just simply too large. It successfully retracts the clip, but the travel in the clip is maxed out on the ramp of the tool and won't engage with the notch. The best to be done with the tool is to insert and press far enough to retract the clip and hope that the unit is loose enough to just come out easily. If not, the tool will disengage and release the clip.Second, the notch is too deep. The notch is intended to allow for removal force of the head unit, which I'm sure varies depending on circumstance. The tool is to be inserted into the retaining clip, retract it, and then once the notch is engaged, the clip will return ever so slightly to allow for a user to pull on the tool itself and then transfer that force to the head unit to remove it. The clip and the tool work together to accomplish this. The amount of return only needs to be the slightest amount to allow for the transfer of force. However, if the notch is too deep, the retaining clip returns too much and will allow the clip to retain the headunit in the dashboard. If the notch is engaged, the only way to remove the tool will be to have the headunit out, and to press on the clip from the outside and hope that it releases. This issue unfortunately is unfixable without a welder to add material into the notch and re-shape it. I don't have the tools to add more material into the notch to reduce the amount of return. In summary, if this tool as it comes from the factory, is inserted into the headunit and engages with the notch before the head unit is removed from the car. There is a very high likelihood that the headunit will not come out (because the clip has returned too far because the notch is too deep), and the tool will not be removable (because the ramp is too tall compounded with the notch being too deep). These tools WILL get stuck in the head unit, will be UNREMOVABLE from the outside, and the head unit will not come out of the dashboard. These tools are an amazingly spectacular failure of engineering, and this review is a warning to others.

This is the second set of these tools I’ve had to buy. The first set was only a dollar or two cheaper and they barely did the job once. These popped the radio out in a second and are in the tool box for the next time I need the radio or amp out.

The front of these pull keys is too long, preventing them from clicking into place on the radios corner clips, so you have some traction to pull it out. Since they don't clip in, they just pull back out. Sometimes you can get one to kind of bind, but overall they don't latch. To remove the radio with these, you'll have to push them in, then use a little trim pry bar to wiggle the radio back and forth, up and down and out. Not very amusing, but you'll get it done. They will work if you trim maybe 1cm off the tips but keep the slope
