Purchased a 2020 Tacoma and loved everything about it, except that without using the ECT power the takeoff seemed sluggish. I know it’s not the Tundra, but I traded my big V8 vehicles off for better fuel economy. I know the Tacoma is capable of getting a good balance of both power and mileage, so I began searching for ways to improve these things. With that out of the way, here is how I found the AFE Silver Bullet. The item arrived quickly and was a simple 15 minute install. I had monitored mileage and power from my new truck over several tanks of gas and about 700 miles. I was averaging 15.9 MPG and do mostly city driving, noting again that without using ECT power it was sluggish on takeoff. No, I don’t baby my truck and accelerate quickly. After the installation, I waited for several months to evaluate the overall performance. I’ve now got over 1600 miles on the truck and can honestly say that I noticed a difference in both acceleration and mileage. My driving habits are still the same and my driving route in the city is still the same. Takeoff now feels like it did before with the ECT power on, but I don’t need to use it. When I do, an ever greater difference is noted. With the improved takeoff, my mileage has also improved and I’m averaging 18 MPG now over the 15.9 previously. Now, when I use ECT power and accelerate quickly, my mileage does decrease, but I don’t need ECT like I used to. I know there are haters that will disagree, but this is my experience and I’m sharing what it did for me.

So I have run with this thing the same Journey everyday for 5 weeks now. I can confidently say it does nothing but whistle. My fuel mileage actually went down. No noticeable horsepower change. All of the information from the seller is factually inaccurate at least all of my testing. What's worse and I should have just returned it when I saw this. The intake on the Toyota this belongs on he's actually plastic which means that the cooling properties of the aluminum really don't serve much of a purpose cuz you're not conducting heat anyway literally I could have 3D printed anything was slightly tilted cones to swirl the air for the 4 in before it starts moving through the intake for a dollar in 3D printed plastic it would have been more useful or at least less expensive. If I could return it right now I would.

So I was skeptical about buying this cause not many people buy this product . Well I'm gonna tell you what I have what I did . I have a 2017 Tacoma I'm the original owner and I bought this throttle body spacer to add with my aftermarket intake "K&N" and high flow cat back exhaust system " MBRP". Now with the combination of all 3 I feel as my truck is where I want it to be power wise . I still need to see where my fuel economy is going to be with this addition. Do I feel like I got my money's worth eh kinda. I'm not disappointed I know that. I'm also running tire size 285/75/16 Bfg km3 mud terrain's. Hwy I typically get about 19.5 mpg to 20.5 mpg I hope to at least see a .5 mpg increase .

Made a pretty good difference with throttle response on my 2017 Tacoma Trd off road access cab. I also noticed the shifting has improved as well. I am not sure about gas mileage yet but sure will get a little something out of that as well. I do not have their air filter system yet. So the one thing I noticed installing this spacer is once the spacer is on, take the top of the factor air filter cover off and connect the main intake hose back on at the air filter cover and the throttle body. Then put your air filter cover back on. It will feel a bit tight putting it back on but it will connect back up fine. Doing this makes things a lot easier reconnecting your intake hose which is not in the directions. Directions that come with it are nice and I like the fact there are pictures with each step as well but it is an easy install. I think this spacer is a good addition and is well built unlike some of the others I had been looking at.

This was very easy to install and sounds cool. Have yet to see any mileage gains with over 2500 miles since it was installed. It’s a good product just don’t think I gained anything with it.

Sadly, this does nothing for your vehicle. I suspected as much but a mechanically inclined co-worker swore that TBS's were amazing. It's been installed for 150 miles on my 2017 Tacoma and has not increased my MPG at all. It most definitely has not done anything in the HP department. Possibly (Maybe) an almost undectible difference in throttle response. The only thing this has done for my truck is make it chirp. $150 is an absolute crime for this paperweight. AFE should be ashamed of themselves. I will definitely not be buying any of their products in the future.

It makes an awesome sound. I thought it helped with throttle response and mpg. I combined it with an S&B intake and mbrp exhaust tho. I was able to manage 22mpg hwy drive from Wisconsin to Colorado and Utah (Went offroading). wheel and tire setup are 17x8 wrapped in 265/70 ko-2 with 1.5 spacers no lift.
