About this item

  • High flow oil-free filter
  • Lightweight aluminum intake tube
  • Wrinkle black powder coated tube finish
  • Diverter heat shield
  • Made and assembled in the USA

The all new Takeda Retain Intake System produces up to 10 horsepower and 10 pound x feet of torque over stock, while outflowing the factory intake by 37 percent . This intake uses a large 360 degree radial flow Pro Dry S air filter for maximum filtration and convenience. The Pro Dry S air filter requires no oils and cleans with simple soap and water. A one piece powder-coated heat shield is used to protect the filter from unwanted hot engine air for maximum performance. Takeda intakes come complete with all necessary hardware. Tuned Intake Tube: A dyno-tuned black intake tube is used to smoothly direct the airflow into the engine with minimal restriction. This tube was engineered to stay within MAF sensor parameters to prevent check engine light. Factory mounting locations: The use of factory mounting locations ensures a quality fit while maintaining a simple, hassle-free installation. Heat shield: Included in this kit is a powder-coated heat shield which protects the filter from unwanted hot engine air for maximum performance. Silicone coupling: A reinforced silicone coupling is used to connect the tube to the throttle body for strength and durability.

Excellent product. Great sounding on my 09 Tc. Easy install took about 30min to roughly an hour due to my alarm system getting in the way, but other than this product is a direct fit. Would definity recommend to anyone wanting their Tc to sound a little more aggressive

Installation was super easy. I just had to shorten the main vaccum tube coming off the head. The only thing that didn't go smoothly was the bracket for the EGR Vacuum solenoid. It's supposed to mount under the main cylinder reservoir. On the 2010 Scion tc the main hose comes down right through where it's supposed to mount. So I had to bend the bracket at the fork, drill a hole in the heat shield and mount it there. At first I thought nothing had changed because when I revved it in park I didn't hear much. But once I got out where I could open it up the deep, throaty sound was very pronounced. I did notice some gain in power. It idles a little rough at a full stop. Gonna wait and see if the computer compensates... It's a fun mod.

Great product easy installation, just know that at idle you will hear a ticking noise from your vacuum/purge solenoid its because your attaching it to a metal bracket near fire wall I've had no issues or codes thrown and from what I read on forums this is normal or I may have a vacuum leak which has nothing to do with the intake hope this helps

Does not fit 06 scion tc because the maf sensor is too big for the hole in the takaeda's intake. Even though the description says it fits it didn't

Couldn't be happier, I didn't rush the installation. Approx. an hour total and very happy with the results. All I had do as far as fit customization was cut the crankcase vacuum hose down an inch. (2007 scion tc)
