If you’re still on the fence for a Range AFM/DOD disabler. Works as it should! Very pleased with the quality, and half the price of the Range disabler. I love the low profile design it tucks right under my dash and can’t be seen or snagged on. The small LED light is the perfect balance to be comfortable at night, but also brings a little atmospheric light. Highly recommend if you’re in the market. 2013 GMC Sierra 1500, 5.3L V8

If you want to put the fun back into driving your 5.3 L GM vehicle without it going from eight cylinder to four-cylinder; you’ve got to buy this Mac cylinder plug-in component. It is better than sliced bread. I’m using it on a 2014 Chevy Silverado crew cab 5.3 L engine.. I wish I would have known about it when I bought 2014 Chevy. I believe it will make my engine last a lot longer without all the problems with the cam and lifters breaking down otherwise. It drives like a different truck now, I love it!!!!! Plus it is made by a small US company, made in the USA! It also will not drain your battery. You can leave it plugged in and forget about it. Plus, you can go back to the normal position by just unplugging the component.

I have had this installed now for about 3 months and no problem with battery drain. Works as advertised, made a noticeable difference.

Waited a few months before reviewing this just to get a good feel to how well it works. My fuel economy did suffer in town driving, but i actually got better fuel economy on road trips of 1+ hour, which makes no sense, but according to the on-board fuel monitor, thats what it says. I mainly got this to try to avoid the lifter issues with the AFM on the 5.3, along with oil changes by milage instead of when the computer says to change it, but there were 2 added benefits that i didnt know i would get. First, this disabled auto-shutoff which i like. Second, i have always had real hard shifts into 2nd gear with my transmission, and for some reason, after installing this, shifting from 1-2 is normal.

I like the fact that the Max Cylinder AFM disabler is American made. It is priced less than its major competitor. It does not drain the battery. The short profile makes it much less intrusive than the other ones available. The pilot light is not bothersome. And it keeps the motor in V8 mode. Time will tell if it also helps prevent transmission failures associated with AFM function, as some folks suggest.
