Carbyte Header with Silverado on autumn road

First all-in-one disabler compatible with the latest 2022-2024 models

AFM/DFM Disabler Truckbed

With Carbyte, you can disable AFM/DFM, and keep your engine firing on all cylinders.

This eliminates engine shudder and rough idle, improves throttle response, and makes the transmission shifting smoother, so you can reclaim your ride.

START/STOP Disabler Truckbed

Carbyte disables that frustrating start/stop function to keep your engine running.

No more hesitation when restarting after a stop. This simple change saves your starter, battery, engine, and transmission from unnecessary wear and tear.

OBD Scan Tool Truck Bed

Paired with the OBDLink app, your Carbyte becomes a professional grade OBD Scan Tool.

Access real-time gauges and graphs, emissions readiness tests, maps and check and clear all standard OBD-II engine codes straight from your iOS or Android device.

Carbyte stand-alone feature and setup steps

Simply plug the device into your truck's OBD-II port to disable both AFM/DFM & Start/Stop functions.

Carbyte is safe to leave plugged in. It won't drain your battery and will be ready to work when you turn your engine back on.

Optional iOS & android Apps

Get more control with optional apps

Carbyte works as a multi-feature disabler in stand-alone mode, but pairing it with an optional app on your iOS or Android device gives you extra features and control.

With the Carbyte app you can enable and disable each of the device's features with a single touch, and check on any engine trouble codes, and their meaning.

The OBDLink app turns your Carbyte into a professional grade OBD scan tool. With its built-in OBDLink functionality you can monitor and log live parameters and read and clear trouble codes.

Both apps come included with your Carbyte — and are entirely optional. There are never any monthly subscriptions, ads or other hidden costs when using them — they're simply there to give you the extra functionality when you want it.

I originally bought this to disable the annoying start/stop feature. Bonus that it's a combo start/stop disabler and a AFM/DFM disabler at a great price for both. As soon as I plugged it in, it was easy to connect with the app with no issues. The firmware was already the latest version but I decided to install again. It was pretty much plug and play even if you didn't use the app.First time I drove with this plugged in, WOW! I knew the truck always felt hesitant and weak but just chalked it up as that's just the way it is and unfortunately got used to it. I had even debated on trading it in because it didn't have the power as my last truck did and it was a V6 versus my V8 now. Man, I have been missing out. What a difference this makes. I can now feel the power and can definitely feel the difference in the pedal. As soon as you barely give it a little pedal you can feel it. It was very hesitant and lagged before. Disabling the start/stop has been great not having to press the button every time.I'm disappointed that I didn't find this sooner. Definitely worth the price to get both disablers in one. Being able to upgrade the firmware when new ones comes out is a plus as well so this will never be obsolete.Great product and value. Would highly recommend this.

I bought this to stop the tahoe from turning off everytime I come to a stop. The turning off of the engine is not only frustrating, but it is harmful to our engines. The automotive industry has had to beef up every computer assisted program to allow for this ridiculous addition to our vehicles. It is suppose to save gas and reduce pollution. In my opinion, the fact that we will have to change out worn out starters and other parts associated with this auto off system. This cutting off is going to cost you more in the long run. Your battery is going to costs you more because the amperage cannot drop below 8-9amps which most batteries stay at approximately 7 amps. The Carbyte was easy to install and the explanation is simple. The way this works is simple. It keeps the Auto off from working by bypassing the switch and it has been working without fail for the last two weeks. I highly recommend this. I bought this with a low number of reviews and it has turned out to work great. I didn't want to spend $150 on this but plugging it in was simple without having to tear off the dash as other units require of you. For me, my Tahoe now does not shut off any more.

It works as advertised. The auto stop goes off as soon as it is plugged in, and the displacement on demand has to be turned on through the app. The product delivers as promised and is much easier than opening the dash to install a bypass on the auto-stop button.

First, it started out just flat not working sometimes. It wouldn’t disable AFM/DOD when it was plugged in, so I’d have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work. I thought that was strange because they say as long as it’s plugged in, it should disable AFM/DOD. This was only the beginning of the issues.Later on, it made the dash light up like a Christmas tree. Lost communication to ECM and TCM, putting the car in limp mode, and making the stability control go crazy, causing 38 codes in total. I unplugged it and immediately all the lights on the dash went away, stability control stopped going crazy, and the car drove perfectly fine and not in limp mode anymore. I was using this as a bandaid while I wait for my new lifters, camshaft, etc. to come in. I’d honestly rather have a lifter go out than some $150 gadget cripple my car.

When a product is shipped out, in my opinion, the firmware should be fully updated. Not this product. You must first download the app and then update the firmware on the device. We'll, that doesn't really make the app "optional" does it? In my case, it didn't seem to be working correctly until the firmware was fully updated.Customer service is responsive which is a big plus, but only via email. No, you can't call anyone for customer support. It's pretty obvious the device works as it it should for the auto-stop disabler which is worth the price just for that aspect. However, on my 24 Silverado 5.3 I could never feel when the cylinders deactivated so I can't actually tell if this product works to prevent them from deactivating. The only way to tell is by looking at the app which tells you the cylinder deactivation is disabled. Another reviewer mentioned they could tell the cylinder deactivation was disabled because their gauge no longer hits 99 mpg when driving down hill, but mine still does. Just drove a 400 mile trip and noticed no difference in fuel mileage.Overall, seems like a good product. Easy installation and good customer service. For this price however, I just think it should work correctly right out of the box.

Installation was easy (literally plug and play). Updating firmware via the app was a snap and took all of 15 seconds. I really enjoy the autostart disable feature. That was a nice bonus aspect of this device. The main reason I bought it was to disable the DFM in my truck. I just had my engine replaced due to engine bearing failure. There has been a lot of conjecture around root cause of these 6.2l engine failures (seized bearings, lifter failures, etc.) but one common thought is the AFM/DFM system being a minimum a contributor and at most the root cause of these issues. So disabling this and having my truck run on all 8 cylinders all the time is better. PLUS, it is actually better for the environment as replacing engines is incredibly wasteful and inefficient when you consider the tow truck fuel/oil consumption, the refining energy necessary for recycling the old engine, the manufacturing energy go produce a 2nd engine, etc.
