The sound produced is pleasant and can be either a short burst or a long gentle rain depending on how you hold it. I suggest about a 45 degree angle and turn it slowly as the pebbles fall. This lasts for a good while - certainly several measures of a song.Seems like it could crack with much pressure so I would not recommend this for children

I bought this rain stick to bring into my healing ceremonies. She does not disappoint. Since bringing her in, it’s been every client’s favorite part of ceremony. I want more.

When I was in graduate school, a couple of my professors had rainsticks to get the class' attention when it was time to come back together from group work. I finally decided to get one for my own first grade classroom this year. This is just what I was looking for. As long as it is tilted slowly, it the sound works its way down for about 15-20 seconds, which is perfect for my uses. I wish it were a little thicker, but the length is perfect!

First of all let me say that this item met my expectations.I also have to commend the company and Amazon for getting the item to me although late, in time for a very special Christmas with my granddaughter.It is beautiful cactus wood the rain sounds last about 10 seconds if you hold at a slight angle a little longer if you tilt it to about 30 degrees. I bought this for my granddaughter who has autism and she is my nature girl and absolutely brought joy to my eyes to see her appreciate a present.She's very difficult to buy anything for and have her show real interest I highly recommend this for anyone else who's speaking a sensory item for their own nature baby.

Sounds amazing and goes for a long time each way. Love this one! I originally went with a shorter stick that was 20 in and was not happy with the sound. I also didn't want one that was full size so this one is perfect.

Transaction was flawless, packaging was top notch, and shipping was quick. I bought it for my son. It arrived with pink yarn on it. His favorite colors are orange and green. Would've loved an option there. (He is on the autism spectrum so it actually is a big deal to him) Great instrument and when used properly, can give sound for a minute or more. We love it!
