Never had a deep fryer before. Bought this, a gallon of peanut oil and some cheesecloth to strain and reuse said oil. Took a few tries to really get frying chicken just right. Basically we tried plus/minus 10 seconds til the timing was spot on. Let me say, the product is fine, has no issues, and the basic knob for different products is perfect- don't need any frills, this level of tech is just right. Easy and efficient. Having a deep fryer (if you've been making do with shallow oil in a frypan) makes better food and at 3x the pace. This has been used half a dozen times and does what we need.

First time using a deep fryer, it was so easy! Heated quickly, cleaning was a breeze as well. So glad we finally tried one. Instructions were easy to follow.

I have only used and cleaned my new fryer once so I can't speak to longevity. Very easy to set up and cook first time out (fries and shrimp). Clean up next day was easy although I did over pour the oil from the frying vessel to my used oil container. A pouring lip in one corner would be helpful. Don't foresee any long term issues.

If you are shopping for medium size deep fryer like I was, you will see several products very much like the Aigostar Deep Fryer, Electric Deep Fat Fryers with Baskets, 3 Liters Capacity Oil Frying Pot with View Window, 1650W Ushas. It appears to me that this unit is manufactured by one company, then sold by many others, all with slightly different small cosmetic features. I liked that it was larger than my current small fryer, you could see what you were cooking and it came apart to clean – and the price was right/under $50. I also thought it was good enough based for me based on the ratings which figure in all my decisions on the ZonWell, as documented somewhere else here in the reviews, it is for Shirley is cheaply made – but no biggie, how much do I deep fry?And the see-through glass fogged up immediately . . . but no biggie, how much do I deep fry?I then immediately tried it and the temperature light NEVER came on, even after 15 minutesWell that stinks . . . do I just cook everything set on high, however at whatever temperature if warms up too?No, I don’t think so. I thus had to waste my time and empty and clean the unit, and the great Zon took it back, no probs. Before I even got my credit for it, I re-shopped and decided to spend the money on a better name fryer and decided on the T-fal Odorless Stainless Steel lean Deep Fryer with Filtration System, 3.5-Liter, Silver. Granted, it’s $42 more, but what a difference that makes. Well made, not flimsy, the glass actually works on it/you can see through it (unlike the model above) and the temperature light/gauge worked. I also bought a cheap fryer thermometer and it was spot on. Additionally, as of now. It’s .1 higher rated with 11 times more ratingsAs for the odorless feature – well personally I never thought it would be that. Really, an odorless deep fryer? That’s like saying you have an odorless onion slicer. Net net, I think the closed loop system with the fan and filter helps and for Shirley filters the greasy fumes (which is a big deal for your kitchen walls), but it is not 100% odorless.I am not rich, but I am happy I spent the extra $42 for the T-fal, as it is a MUCH better productHope this helps anyone else shopping for medium size fryer.

Very sturdy - will not tip over or spill. Covers make it very safe to operate. Have been using mine for years.
