Metal and plastic components. Lid and retaining screw are metal. Plastic base. I don't know if it is because of my sandy environment of Tucson, Arizona or the quality of the plastic, but the plastic has a cloudy appearance now after less than 3 months of use, maybe 1000 miles. Not due to sunlight light exposure or any abrasive cleaning. Wondering if anyone else's has done this? Overall, still happy with the product. Fits well.

Seems to be a good fit. Looks good. Not sure about the plastic durability. The original was all metal but that was 56 years ago too.
