This regulator/water separator is as described. Once I got the fitting threads to seal, it has been leak free. It is easy to see foreign particles as they appear in the clear bowl. The auto drain works well when pressure is removed, and so far, reseals when pressure is restored. The gauge exhibits a 15 PSI drift upward when airflow is stopped, but consistently settles back to the set pressure when airflow resumes. The only issue I had was trying to get the input and output fitting threads to seal. The threads for the gauge location where quite clean and sealed with addition of teflon sealing tape on first try. The input and output fitting threaded connections in the gauge/filter body were another matter. Both threads were pretty rough with small pieces broken out of them in the threaded areas. I had to rewrap each fitting three times with increasing number of wraps before finally getting everything to seal. I had to use commercial grade (blue) teflon tape to get the job done. The supplied sealant tape was just not good enough. Had the third try also failed my next try would have been to switch to liquid PTFE sealant. The regulator adjusted outgoing pressure smoothly with no issues. The included steel wall mount fit well and worked easily to hold the unit. Other than the pain-in-the-neck issues with getting the inlet/outlet joints to seal, everything else is working fine.

This little kit is just right for portable compressors that typically do not come with water filters. Moisture can be a big problem in such units, especially when they're equipped with larger pressure tanks. I've seen the inner condensation turn compressed air streams into virtual pressure washers--not a good thing when blowing dust out of electronics and computers! The water separator built into this filter solves that problem. The kit is complete with ostensibly everything needed to install the filter in-line on the pipes of the compressor itself or mounted on the wall near it. My preference was on the compressor, since the compressor's on wheels and I often move it around my shop. The only problem with that was that the brass nipples included with the filter were only 1" and made it difficult to gain enough clearance to rotate the filter assembly to tighten it into place. My resolution was to remove, by unscrewing, the clear plastic filter housing. This allowed me to turn the filter the full 360 degrees needed to thread it into the compressor air line where the quick coupling had been. I then attached the coupling to the output side of the filter and was good to go. A couple notes: though rated for pressure, the clear plastic filter housing cause me some concern when loosening from the filter body. It was very tight and I had some concern my wrench could crack it if too much pressure was applied. I was careful and this did not happen. Also, the brass nipples included, along with the extremely thin teflon tape packaged in the kit, did not allow threading tightly enough to avoid a small air leak. The surest fix to that will be replacing the nipple with a hardware-store-grade product. Overall though, this kit solved my moisture problem cost-effectively and with minimal trouble.

Quality regulator, well designed. This has a small ¼ inch hole for air to flow through; making it good for small jobs and hobbyists. This fits our commercial grade compressor but the ¼ inch air hole does not allow enough air through to be effective for our big workload.Instructions in English would help – no paper inside; no instructions on outside of box. There might be instructions (font size 2) on bottom of box but the 9 parts are all in foreign language; as is the spec chart. You get the gauge unit and must already know how to use it.I still cannot figure out if the unit is made with metric or American fittings.

My plasma cutter came with an AFR2000 regulator that for some reason had its ports threaded with the obscure (at least in the US) G1/4 British pipe thread, and the US compressor air fittings I had on hand wouldn't thread in more than a turn. I tried to find a US compressor fitting with G1/4 thread but this seems to be nigh impossible so I needed either an adapter or a new regulator. When I found this nearly identical AFR2000 air filter/regulator from CNZG that claimed "1/4 PT" threads I decided to take a chance and order it. "1/4 PT" doesn't mean anything since it's not a real standard, and I was hoping it meant "1/4 NPT". Most of these AFR2000s have G1/4 threading or 1/4 BSPT, but a few do indeed have the 1/4 NPT threading used here in the US.The regulator came with a separate gauge (installation required), two couplings and teflon tape. I was a bit worried because the box said "G1/4" in the Chinese specs printed on the bottom, but it turns out that most of my NPT male fittings fit just fine, and most importantly, the air fitting I wanted to use threaded in enough to get it properly seated. The fittings all leaked like a sieve under pressure with teflon tape but liquid teflon pipe sealant did the trick. All in all I'm very happy because the regular fit my cutter perfectly and it lets me connect my compressor exactly how I wanted.
