These are like the old style, thick, durable quality crimp connectors that have been replaced by the cheap thin-walled crimp connectors that have taken-over the retail market and have been sold here over for the past decade. They work as expected.

I've used quite a few of these in various sizes. I use a Klein crimper and they work every time. Once covered with heatshrink they are a reliable connection. I will continue to use these.

I got these 8 AWG connectors to work, but an 8 gauge stranded wire was very difficult to get in the openings. They should be big enough to slip the wire in without a struggle. They are quite thick. Took some long handle pliers to crimp them and once crimped, I could not pull them apart.

The butt connectors are fairly thick walled and seem to crimp fine. They are a bit shorter than the what I had previously but should be ok. I prefer uninsulated connectors and dual wall heat shrink tubes to the regular plastic sleeve connectors. More secure and completely protected from the elements. I know there is heat shrink connectors but how do you crimp those properly without damaging the shrink sleeve?
