Got my 2010 Prius back on the road. Was significantly cheaper than the auto parts store and appeared to be EXACTLY the same part with the name brand scratched off (probably for some sort of copyright reasons?). Works as intended so far.

This is the OEM pump installed on Prius(es) in the US at least. If you have one of these OEM ones (also made by AISIN) in your car - be afraid! In fact you will notice the TOYOTA name is sanded off on the one you will get. Replace it with an AISIN at 100K miles. After 100k or even sooner sometimes (if you neglect coolant changes) most of them go bad, they don’t have weep holes, they do not make any symptomatic sounds - see photos of the original on after 180k miles. The magnetic base of the impeller just cracks (just like in the photos), starts rubbing on the internal wall of the pump. If you are lukey - it will still circulate enough coolant for a while, if not - it will just drag and reduce coolant circulation to the point when the engine overheats and blows the head gasket, coolant flows into the cylinder, the rod goes through the engine block wall - you will not know what hit you. You can always replace just the impeller since the pump itself is just an electronic block and has no moving parts – just do a search on Amazon and you will find a bunch of them – wondering why that is that so many are offering them? Now You too know the rest of the story.

Water pump seems to be exactly like oem. Very easy to put on 2910 Prius . About 250 miles on new water pumpso far and no problems.

Beware which seller you buy from especially (good quality Samurai Rapids). Water pump was defective and Had scratches over it so I’m thinking it was previously returned SMH. After installing it, the water pump engine code came up right away. Even tested it by putting the old water pump and the code went away. Extremely disappointed because i had to wait a long time to get a new one and they didn’t let me do a replacement so i had to spend another $150 to get it. Horrible experience and ruined my plans and lost money

I installed this pump about a year ago and I have not had any issues. I recommend it.

My 2010 Toyota Prius with about 160,000 miles started giving me a Hybrid System Failure message and going into limp mode. I'm getting old and would rather a professional work on my cars these days, but the YouTube videos I watched seemed doable with my skillset and tools, so I figured I'd take a chance and hopefully save some money. Was able to do the install and so far it's working fine. My only concern is that the old water pump impeller didn't seem to be bad. If there was any resistance when I spun it around on the old pump as there was on the new pump, I could tell. So I'm hoping this was the issue and not something else.

It was a weeks wait but we got it at a really good price. It fit like it should I had to watch a few videos on the installation part of it. It’s a really tight fit so you’ll have to be very diligent in your work. The other water pump Was And aftermarket product that was not AISN It may have lasted eight months at the most. Hopefully this part will last longer than that.

Installed recently under a month so far no issues will update in a year or so, I doubt there will be any problem since it is made in Japan 🇯🇵

Super easy to replace on a PriusVUse a 1/4 ratchet with extension for the hidden 12mm boltFor the removal of that hidden bolt, keep the handle pointing towards the rear of the car to save yourself some curse wordsTorque "to feel" after using a breaker bar on the regular onesGood luck!
