I used this product to lock a basement door. I had two doors this product would have been perfect for. As i was putting the first screw in the locking mechanism it felt sturdy, but i found out different. The base broke before the screw felt tight. I tried the second one getting all the screws started and then tightening all of them a little at a time until they were tight. This seemed to work until i locked it and gave it a test push on the door. Using just my hand to see how sturdy it was the base broke off the locking mechanism with the slightest of pressure.

It did what I wanted it to which was to keep individuals out of particular areas of the residence. If you looking to have a strong door lock, this not it. Someone could easily break it.

The lock seems to work great. Nobody has been able to get out of the room so far. Believe me they try all day long too. I like how it's designed where the screws are blocked by the hinge and latch. So even if they somehow obtained a screwdriver, as long as it's locked they can't get to the screws then escape. Great product good price.

Bought 3 of these to install on an in-swing door, out-swing door and a drawer. Neither instance does the hinged latch swing open without getting jammed on the lock. I had to bend/modify each latch for them to work properly. That being said, I did like the ease of install…however, after only a month of mild use, the interior of one of the locks cracked and came apart. It’s still functional but annoying to use.

The locks themselves were fine but unfortunately I have to return because my door is too rotted to use these. And its not a door I can easily just replace. They are enough to deter but could easily be pried off with crowbar if you need higher security I wouldn’t recommend.
