I had a picture of the pasta I made but since this was a gift, the picture isn't here on my wife's side of the computer. Anyway, There are dozens of recipes and how-to's, but product specific instructions help a first timer. The documentation that came with it leaves a lot to be desired. I think I really liked this contraption and had I studied the technique a little better as well as picking the one recipe there wouldn't have been such an unknown feeling----but guess what? The pasta turned just fine and was delicious! The pasta, ( spaghetti) was suppose to be .6mm but mine was 1.5mm-big honkin pasta---it was great! This dough was about 300g of 00 flour and100g of semolina. and 4 jumbo eggs and an additional egg yolk.Anyway, there are no instructions on how to clean this thing, but it says to let everything dry out for an hour and then brush off. Egg and flour residue makes me a little nervous. It says not to wash it or get it wet so . Hopefully people can respond here. It is a winner and I like it....BTW: I saw another post where there was a stainless screw loose in the box and I had a screw in the box and didn't think anything of it. Sure enough, it was not tightened down at the factory. anyway......it's a winner so far!

UPDATE: As I used this more and more it was making the pasta output sort of grainy instead of smooth. It would also collect an unusual amount of dough in the middle press. I got my original KitchenAid pasta roller out and then put this one back on. I can tell now that this one doesn't have the big squeeze that the original has. It also doesn't move that much from number to number. It starts out too narrow. A lot of my dough had holes in it going through and it's the same recipe I've used for years. I ended up throwing this out and going back to the less convenient KitchenAid original. I do not recommend.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Hey, I really like this pasta attachment except that the numbers on the dial are in a too tiny and thin font and in a charcoal grey against silver making it nearly impossible to read. Really bummed about this because I love the rest of it big time. The font should have been bold and black. I experimented having an overhead light and turning the light off and neither light scenario helped read the numbers and I have 20/20 vision. Half the time I had to feel my way through where the next notch down was.I have individual pasta attachments currently and this one saves me SO much time not having to change attachments with sticky/floured hands. This product is a genius idea. The attachment is heavy and all stainless. Top tier design.I was concerned about the weight of it, but my KitchenAid mixer (I have a lift) kept right up.I make pasta weekly in huge amounts and this was a dream. It does sit higher than my current attachments, so I had to do quite a bit of standing on my tiptoes. Next time I may put it on a table.The "8" position is the starting point to put your hand-smashed first section of dough through.I can't explain why but this thing kept my dough rolling right through without getting gummed up with dough bits. This too was a joy. There is a plastic snap on cover underneath that can be removed to then use the included little brush to wipe it. You don't wash these things... just knock off most of the flour and put it away. I've been doing it that way for a year and we're all alive. LOLThe joy is to feed your dough through the middle section and then when it's thin enough you feed it through the left side where you can make Cappellini (super thin) or through the right side to make Fettucine (wide) noodles. No unscrewing the KitchenAid nut and fussing to seat the next attachment, screw it, turn it on, etc. Once you power on its three sections are rolling. Brilliant and it's a big, big, time saver! Oh, and it takes up less room than my current 3 attachments!

Unfortunately, it does not completely sever the individual pasta noodles. Quality is great, but functionality is lacking.

I gave this as a Christmas gift to a chef who seemed well pleased with it. Built well and stainless steel.
