It's nice that items like this will work for a multitude of uses beyond the stated application. I used mine for winding some antenna wire after a portable radio communication event. I can keep the wire from tangling, store it in a smaller space, and have it ready to use next time I need it. It's not for a really heavy load, but just strong enough; and I like the multiple clips built in for holding the wire ends. Great bang for the buck!

I have various winter light displays around my property, changing the light theme each month to a different color. So, with many shorter strings of lights, these cord reels take up less space than the other ones I was using. In addition, with the hook, they can be easily hung on the wall or side of a cabinet.

I bought it for my extension cords. Out of the three I have, it only accommodates 1. The other two, when I wrap the cords around it, it bends, and a 25 utility cord is too much for it.
