I did a lot of research for a surf rack. I ended up going with this product since it was the best value I could find for the combination of cam straps and pads. I got everything for only $20. Compare that to name brand products like Dakine that want 3x that just for the pads.I've used it to transport two 8ft high volume Costco boards. It worked perfectly without any issues. I drove at 65 mph on the highway to the beach. No vibration, no sound, the boards don't move at all.Yes, the pads are narrower and the straps are shorter than other products. The straps can't wrap around the width of the car and have to be anchored to the cross rails. For my use-case of transporting surfboards, it works perfectly. I don't need any extra slack. I could probably stack a total of 3 or 4 boards using these straps. The straps are just regular cam straps, but have a removable piece of silicone that covers the metal buckle. It works, though I'm still careful. The pads feel very padded with strong Velcro. It's easy enough to take them on and off that I keep them in my trunk when not in use so they don't fade, get stolen, or impact fuel economy.

Nice rubber coated buckle. Nice cushions. Straps are good only if you can wrap them around a roof bar. They are not long enough to wrap around any car's width

These pads are great on my Blazer's roof rack. I can now tie down my SUP without using it's protective case, and it does not slip. The tie downs are a little short for most uses, but I have other ones and my main reason for this purchase was the rack pads. Very quick and easy to install. I take them off if I'm not going to need them for a few weeks, and pop them back on when I do need them.

Bought these little over a year ago and they faded pretty badly and the material started to disintegrate. They are on my truck racks permanently, so they are exposed to the elements. I also have a pair of DaKine pads that have held up in the same conditions. Will probably buy another pair of those.

These are perfect for our paddle board when commuting back and forth to the beach. Great product, withstands elements, protects board and car, exactly what we needed. I highly recommend!

I don't know why but I guess the rope is so smooth that it burned my surfboard

These are nice pads that Velcro around your rack system. I have Thule racks and they fit nicely over them. The two straps that came with the pads are really nice! I used them to strap my stand-up paddle board and they were easy to use and plenty long enough :-)

The pads functioned fine but after a month they started fading quickly. Unfortunately my window to return them has expired. Won’t buy again.

Really like this setup. Stores away so tiny when not in use. Holds board super well, VERY happy with it. **Note to SUP users** supplied straps are only BARELY long enough for a wide board (eg 34â€). Like straps only stick through the buckle with 1.5†to spare. Thats not a lot of margin for error or slippage! WOULD HAVE BEEN SOLID 5 STARS IF STRAPS WERE 6†LONGER.

The straps are too short, im not able to attach an inflatable sup with that.

This product is totally misleading. This is not a roof rack at all. It's only foam pads. You still need to buy the cross bars in addition to this. This is the kind of product where you have to read the fine print very closely. Quite deceptive. Also, the quality of the foam is dollar store quality.
