Amazing gyro wrist ball, the best ever. My last one I owned was plastic, and it wore out. This one comes with extra parts for when it wears out. I had not thought about this exerciser in years and decided to try this one, as I did not know they even existed. It's a solid design and has decent weight, what a metal ball would expect to weigh. The automatic start-up function is spot on. If you are looking for a wrist gyro for strengthening and know what these are, Parallel Halo has made the best one ever!

I bought one of these years ago. It was light, plastic, and freewheeling with a stupid pull string like an old-fashioned top. It didn't work well, and it didn't last long. It was overpriced, because it came from a boutique climbing gear shop. This sucker has a metal enclosure, probably aluminum, with an industrial finish and a silicone grip band. It can be disassembled for servicing. It includes replacements for some parts. It has a metal rotor, which is where more than half the total mass is. All that spinning mass makes for high torque when you wind it up to a nice high-pitched hum. It has no pull string. If you thumb the rotor in the direction indicated by the arrows, an internal spring mechanism winds up. Then you release it, and the spring gives it a kick start, though with the sheer mass, you could also flick it a few times to get it started. There are some plastic parts I would rather be thicker and tougher plastic--or preferably just machined aluminum or stainless--but in all, this is a solidly built gadget that you can expect to get years of good use out of before it's toast.

This product was good and effective until it abruptly stopped working. There's no way to communicate with the seller to arrange a replacement. Amazon should require sellers to be reachable for customer problems.

I enjoy this. Self start is great but some finesse is required to keep it going and to make it spin faster. You must synchronize you hand/wrist movement with the gyroscope in order to maintain and accelerate the spin rate. The faster it spins the easier it is to keep it going and accelerate it. There is plenty of power in this thing. I can accelerate it with either hand to a point where I can barely hang on, and you can always make it go faster. That screeching noise only happens when your movement is not synchronized with the device or if the device is held steady while the gyroscope is spinning

I've had many gryo balls and they usually last 6 months to a year. I have a feeling this one will last much, much longer.First of all, this thing is made extremely well. It's WAY heavier than any oth the other plastic ones I have had.The self starter is by far the best feature. The work out you get with this ball is amazing as you move your arm slot. Highly recommend spending the few extra dollars on this ball. Well worth it!

I love this ball, has a solid quality feel. I had carpal tunnel surgery on both my wrists. For years I continued to have pain in both wrists following the surgery. I also found that I didn't have much of a grip. I was embarrassed to shake hands with any other men, because my handshake was not firm. After using this ball for a short time, I shook hands with a well built shoe store salesman. This salesman told me that I had quite a grip. This was well worth the purchase.

Great product for the price. Actually really quiet. Has great weight propulsion. Only downside is it doesn't get the fast rotational speed I'd like to be at. Other than that a great buy
