This cover feels good in my hand and does a good job of protecting the Kindle. I like how the Kindle turns on automatically when the cover is open. One thing about the cover that I wasn't expecting (not really a bad thing) is that the leather distresses easily. I started noticing scratches on the cover almost immediately, even though I don't treat it rough.

I absolutely adore this premium leather case for my Colorsoft. I’ve been wanting to purchase Amazon‘s own brand of leather cases for a while now however the previous generation leather case was not up to par. I really like this one and I’m so glad I bought it. Yes, it does scratch easily, but I think that’s a given considering this is genuine leather. You even get the leather smell, which I love. As you can see from my photos, the top and bottom of the Kindle are bare, so you may want to take that into consideration if you will be using this flip case as your go to case when you are out and about, but other than that, the rest of the Kindle is completely covered. I also really like the fact that when I am reading, the cover of the case magnetically attaches to the back and it makes it much easier to hold the Kindle for long periods of time. In addition to that, it also does not add too much bulk or weight to the Kindle so Again it’s easy to hold for long periods of time. Overall, I really like this case and I am really happy with my purchase.

It doesn't look or feel like any real leather I've seen. It almost feels like a micro thin layer of semi-suede or flesh side. It doesn't at all look or feel like the top side of top grain leather. It doesn't stink, it may even smell a little nice. But again, it doesn't smell like any real leather I've had.I wish I hadn't gotten it. I have the official cork case for the 11th gen, and absolutely love it. I had, before gifting it, the "MoKo Case for All-New 7" Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen" library print, and liked it very much.I got this Ruby Leather case as part of a bundle at a discount or I would return it. I still may purchase a replacement. I would definitely not recommend this item.

This is great! Real leather and minimal! Wonderful quality. Leather will scratch but that’s the uniqueness of raw leather.

It's a nice case but expensive for the amount of leather involved. The case I had on my old older paper white was much nicer and better made. That case was 10 years old and held up very well. Not sure the lifeexpectancy of this case. it seem flimsy and put together with glue my other case actually had stitching around the edge.

PROS:Exactly the same quality as the Amazon Oasis leather case released years ago, but apparently a lot nicer than the leather case for the v11 Paperwhite. So if you like this basic case design, I think you’ll be happy with the material and build quality of the version for the Colorsoft & PW V12.The leather is nude-finished and has an aroma of fine calfskin.Not sure what to make of the reviewer who said that this case has a chemical smell. Not true for the case that I received.The molded plastic interior that clips on to the Kindle has been reinforced in the areas that have tended to crack in past versions of this case.CONS:The molded plastic interior seems to still be made from brittle, crack-prone plastic. Why hasn’t Amazon changed to a more pliant material that would be more long-lasting?The plastic interior is open on the top and bottom—please see the attached photo. If you happen to drop your Kindle in just the right way the case will offer little protection.The basic design of this case with a front flap isn’t great for marathon reading where one may be holding a Kindle for hours. It adds weight, bulk and fussiness.This super-premium leather version limits the use of the WATER-RESISTANT Kindle to dry areas since the case itself isn’t designed to get wet.The cloth version of this case is specifically designed for use in wet areas. So for half the price the cloth version offers greater utility than this leather version?OTHER OPTIONS?A simple TPU case like what many folks use for their phones would work better for long reading sessions.A simple padded pouch would be more protective for storage and travel.The two in combination would trump the utility of this case at less than half the cost.FINAL THOUGHTS:Amazon all but invented e-readers and has continuously improved the form and capability of Kindles over the years. And yet Amazon Kindle cases haven’t really changed at all in more than a decade. They’re still just molded brittle plastic with a glued-on cover that isn’t all that protective and isn’t all that great to hold. Dated, anachronistic and nothing special.It’s time for Amazon to rethink what’s possible in more integrated, more protective, more comfortable to hold and overall better Kindle cases.

This is my third Kindle and Amazon brand Kindle Case. I had the fabric cases previously, but I wanted to try something different and more 'bougie' if you will. The downside is the cost... It pushes your Kindle purchase over $200, but I prefer to see that Amazon logo and know the company behind the product. In my experience Amazon's branded cases are of a higher quality than the litany of third party providers and worth the price premium. On the upside the leather is on the front and the back of the traditional plastic form fitting case. It snaps on easy and is very secure. In contrast to other reviewers in my experience the leather did not smell. Only if I hold it up to my face... and it's a nice smell. Leather scratches, yes, but it also heals itself. I don't plan on it, but if the scratches bother you then you can A) be careful not to drag your finger nails across the surface, or B) use a leather conditioner to protect it like your boots / purse / etc.

My wife loves this. Great look and feel and protects it well. It does NOT interfere with the wireless charger so it's fabulous!

Ich persönlich finde diese Hülle wunderschön!!! Ist jetzt mein drittes Kindle, bisher hatte ich immer die "einfachen" schwarzen Hüllen an meinen Kindle. Ja, der Preis ist und war nicht günstig. Allerdings passen die originalen Kindle-Hüllen perfekt und sind auch sehr langlebig. Mein altes Kindle ist die 6. Generation und wurde am 15.06.2015 gekauft. Nach fast zehn Jahren kackt der Akku langsam ab und hält auch im ausgeschalteten Zustand maximal einen Monat. Somit hab ich mir etwas Gutes gegönnt und mir die 12. Generation mit dieser Lederhülle in Walnuss geschenkt.Die Hülle riecht nach Leder und sieht sehr gut aus und ist auch gut verarbeitet. Man muss nur mal mit dem Fingernagel drüber streicheln und sieht den Streifen. Jeder kleine Druck verewigt sich auf dem Leder. Der Schweiß der Hände und Finger wird sich bestimmt auch sehr schwer und massiv darauf verewigen.Nach ein paar Monaten wird meine Lederhülle also personalisiert und individualisiert sein ... Niemand wird so eine Hülle haben ... Das Leder wird eine einzigartige Patina bekommen ...Einige haben genau deswegen schlecht bewertet. Also ACHTUNG: Nicht kaufen, wenn man dies nicht möchte und mag. Dann sollte man sich lieber die Standard-Hülle kaufen. In meinem aktuellen Fall, hat die schwarze 42 und die aus Leder 65 gekostet. Also schon ein deutlicher Preisunterschied.Werde auf jeden Fall in einem halben Jahr noch einen Nachtrag schreiben und die, von mir erwartete und gewünschte, Veränderung der Hülle nochmal bewerten.

Lovely soft leather cover which developed a beautiful natural patina over time. Absolutely love this cover. Previous versions have felt plastic, whereas this one is soft and natural to the touch. Price is very steep and feels unjustified when first taken out of the box. However once it’s fitted to Kindle it feels transformative. I don’t know how else to explain it. It’s probably not worth the price, but I’m glad I bought it.
