I bought this mainly so I could get a dwell reading for my 4 cylinder tractor that has points and condenser.The read out didn't make any sense. Set correctly the dwell should be right about 40 degrees. I was getting negative numbers and symbols that had nothing to do with anything. Just to see I checked RPM and the readout was some ridiculous number that made no sense at all. If there was a negative star rating this would get it.

The product description says that this is supposed to come with a battery, the battery was neither in the unit or in the packaging and I had just been in town and had to drive 15 miles back to get a battery for it, I was trying to use this in the dark to work on an engine and the "Low" / "High" lights kept popping on and are so bright and blinding that I couldn't see the screen, I am going to put some white tape over them. The "Dwell" setting was giving me a reading before I even had both test leads hooked up so I have my doubts that it is even working right. The battery door is also -very- hard to remove because the rubber shell is in the way, the instructions say to remove the rubber shell but it will not come off I ended up prying the battery door off to get the battery put in. Over all I am not really happy with this device.

The dwell angle was the reason meter was purchased but returned it because that was the one thing it would not read. Very disappointing.

Unfortunately I did not use it immediately when I did the readings were jumping all over the place, tried checking my car battery and It showed high when it was completely flat? Too late to return now.

Tachometer readings seem to be way off. Rest of it seems to work work
