Overall the meter seems to be well made and has some heft that makes it probably worth the money. There are other similar products available that could do a lot of the things this one does for less money but they seem a bit cheesy and don't include the accessories. I got it because my decades-old Sears and Roebuck Tach and Dwell meter finally crapped out. This one has the nice option to connect to a PC to allow a larger display of the information and saving of the data. The software is very basic and comes on a CD (no known download for user's who don't have optical drives on their computers). No user's guide was found on the disk for the software nor on the company's website.The test leads that will be used most often seem well made but have very small end-points. They are not well suited for testing/setting dwell. I made some jumpers with alligator clips on the ends so that unattended connections could be made. However, the teeny bit of metal at the end of the test lead still made it difficult to maintain a connection so that I could set the dwell on my old contact-point ignition. Still, it was nice to have a clear display of the setting on the meter with the backlight on.The device's user's guide might be better if it started with unpacking and installation of a battery. Also, more prominent instruction on connecting to the PC and turning on the backlight (both need press-and hold of buttons on the device).An unexpected benefit was the carrying case for the meter and its accessories. Not a hard-cover, but still a decent soft-cover one.

Main purpose I ordered this tool was to measure dwell and RPM, both of which this tester was not able to measure. I read all the tool instruction, including special instruction for RPM and still did not work. Did not use other functions as was not needed to these. Also, instructions don't mention the tool needs a battery in order to work.
