Yeah this was cheap and I didn't have high expectations...But...I installed this on a Jim Dandy and it works very well. It doesn't even seem like this needs a preamp. Definitely worth the little money paid to add magnetic pickups to a cheap acoustic guitar. I think this magnetic pickups work better than piezo pickups that come with most acoustic guitars. Way less finger/string noise, smooth sounding and not tinny like piezos.

It worked out of the box with lots of noise and no real treble control. Schematic is wrong. After the volume is all down capacitor stays coonected via some resistive load and serves as Antena for noise. Rewiring it according to 59's Les paul Junior wiring fixed the treble control. Putting it in a metal box with proper grounding to my brass bridge made my acoustic sound on par with level of noise as my electric stray. Pickup is weak and need to be mounted as low as possible to make m gauge. 011 ring nicely. I want to try it out with gauge of 0.10 hoping to get it closer to strings and higher on volume. If I mount the pickup via the Fishman pream on place my piezo it sounds about right. Grounding the strings over metal bridge is essential to have less noise. I am happy finally but after some substantial tweaking. Pots are dirty cheap but do the job finally. Advise to vender check your wiring!

Awful sound quality. Had this product fitted by a professional luthier. Wires too short, tone and volume controls not positive, constant buzz that cannot be eliminated. Not a quality product.
