Oboe reed tone repair and maintenance
- Before playing, first soaked in water reed, reed soak water should not exceed place tie line.
- Keep the reed cleaning, after playing finished, should with a soft feather soaked in water and scrub the inside of the pipe whistle reed.
- Reeds in playing after some time will feel uncomfortable, if it is reed "hush" is too small, you can use a thin copper wire between the position and the vibrating section wrapped around the reed line (the lower point place) reinforcement.
- If it is blowing more rigid, bad vibrations, in addition to cleaning of reeds outside reed knife can be used to repair the reed vibrating portion to pronounce portion scuffing (note part of the center pillar portion not scrape excessive vibration)
- If you feel the sound brighter, you can trim both sides of the reed (when the attention of the knife to repair the repair side, and to make the slope type, in the middle to both sides from thick to thin)

Bought these for my daughter and was surprised to find that they were drastically different sizes. She took them to school where her oboe teacher told her they were European Scraped, and she couldn’t us them because they require a different embouchure. I tried to return them, but she had already thrown away one that arrived broken.

While at lesson, kid soaked and used as instructed. One blow and the first reed popped in her mouth. The second one did the same. Third split down the middle. Fourth chipped at the corner and the last one is all that I left. Save your money. Very disappointed and a lesson wasted due to crappy reeds.

One of the reeds was split and useless. There appears to be no way to return 1 of the five and there does not seem to be a way to contact the seller.

Mt so says they work great. We go through them pretty quickly, wish they would last longer, but so far haven't found any others that do.

3 out of 5 of the reeds were cracked down the side straight out of the package, thus rendering them useless. I have given 1 star for each reed we could attempt to use.

The packaging came in damaged and one was missing. Furthermore the reeds don't fit on the oboe correctly and all they do is SQUEAK! Company gave an address and you have to pay to return. Shipping from where I live is around $50 to China....

The reeds arrived on time, but were very poor quality. One of them was visibly broken before I even unwrapped the package, and three of the others were leaky and did not play well. So only one of the five reeds was playable, hence the 1 star rating. Very disappointing purchase. Will not buy again.

I bought this product twice for my son who is a high school oboe player. The first order, 3/5 reeds were damaged- chipped, split, etc. so I returned them requesting a replacement. The second batch was just as bad. The cork didn’t even fit in the instrument regardless of the amount of cork grease used. You definitely get what you pay for! Lesson learned.
