I have owned this barometer for most of this summer and so far it's working great. I used another personal barometer and the the local National Weather Service readings to compare for reference. It's not drifting out of the margin of error and gives readings that reflect the current weather conditions. The thermometer and hygrometer readings were just a bonus for me, but they have been fairly accurate too and align with other personal devices that measure the same thing. I highly recommend this product!I like the classic form factor...pleasant to look at.

Don't let the price scare you. Yes, the barometer needs a couple taps to read, and like most, the hygrometer is slow but it works pretty decently for a decorative piece.The baro is very touchy to adjust and can take a few days of tweaking before you get it right. Just touching the screw to move the pointer affects the capsule and that takes time to recover. Be patient. I THINK this has low-end German instruments inside of it, and the capsule for the baro is not the junky 1/2" thing found in cheap small baros. I'm not going to open this, but it does appear to be much larger so it should be more sensitive to small changes, hence the big dial. Yay. Oh, and 30 inches is the center of the dial, the area you'll often see the pointer. I check it against another barometer I have and my very local online baro and it's usually just ahead of the online reading, meaning that it's more up to the moment.Oh, it has a REAL GLASS DOME!! The "wood" is nothing special with some kind of veneer, I think. The finish is a bit reddish for my taste, but overall, for this price? A pretty decent looking item that does it's job, doesn't weigh a lot, so you don't need to use wall anchors, etc. Has a hanger catch on the back, also has rubber bumpers so it doesn't vibrate against the wall when you tap it!Overall, better than I expected and more what I had hoped for! If "Zero Stars" were available, that would be the rating.It appeared the unit was returned previously and repackaged because the rear panel had 2 of 4 screws missing. One of the remaining screws had stripped screw head slots, plus the rear panel edges were deformed and exhibited `prying' marks. The temp and humidity indicators worked well and were accurate w/in 2 degrees of a calibrated thermometer and 5% humidity. The Baro pressure was grossly inaccurate. Tried for 14 days to adjust to local airport baro pressure using `1/2 error method' where 50% of the error is adjusted out each time. Finally let the unit sit for 5 days, the baro pressure changed from 29.71 to 30.12 and the needle did not move until tapped, then moved only slightly.The good news, no problem returning it. That is why I shop Amazon.

I got the product without apparent damage, with a manual, and a handy stamped metal calibration screw driver for the barometer. It was the enclosed Instructions which introduced me to the unit's performance specifications.With some difficulty I calibrated the barometer as instructed, to within .01" Hg. The accuracy of the unit is stated in the instructions as about 1/7 of this, so that was fine. However, over 48 hours the unit simply drifted by about +.06" Hg, without any such commensurate change reported by the weather bureau. Tapping was done as recommended. So, my unit does not display barometric pressure according to its specifications.The instructions disclose that the unit's thermometer is accurate to +/-3.6degF. In other words, a reading should be viewed as within a 7.2degF band of uncertainty. This is at least an order of magnitude worse than the typical $5 outdoor glass thermometer, and if this were published by Amazon some people might think twice about ordering the unit. Although the room temperature varied over a range of 6 F degrees over the 48 hours the unit's needle barely moved at all.I did not cross check the hygrometer.In summary, the unit is a pretty face, but if you want to be able to use readings of the parameters it displays, you might think about looking elsewhere.

I really love how the piece looks and how it complements the room. It's an excellent conversation starter for people who aren't familiar with it. It might be a bit small for a big room, but it's perfect for a small one, which is what I have.

Très bien! Très satisfaite. Un cadeau pour mon père (89 ans) et il voit bien les chiffres, les aiguilles. Belle grosseur pour une personne âgée. Beau modèle (un peu vieillot) donc parfait pour aller avec une décoration en lien avec les personnes de l'âge d'or.
