I am fairly certain that the 'oak' is actually just paper over particle style board, but it looks to be high quality overall. No one will notice that its not solid oak.This is my first shadow box so I had no idea it came with an insert, but thats ok. I just had to remove it for my project. Maybe I can use the insert for something else.The shadow box itself is beautiful. The glass is clear and scratch free, thick enough that you don't have to be terrified of wiggling it while working. The measurements are precise, as I cut my cardstock at 10.987" squared and it fit inside perfectly. Unless you use the insert. That, I believe, was about 10.5" give or take.The back panel is very easy to remove and reinsert with little rotating clip things to hold it in place. Also the back has a soft, padded white backing for pinning specimens, or whatever you have in mind. I bought mine to make a lightbox, so no one can see the back panel any more, which is probably a good thing since dog hair really got stuck to it in the time I was working on the project. 😕🤣 My fault. Shoulda kept it protected.All around this is a very nice product and I would buy it again. Honestly I only bought this one because it was 'oak' which was exactly what I needed. Its a gift for Easter and I think she will LOVE it.

I bought a set of these to display my children’s christening outfits. I added velvet over the linen that came because they only came in white but the frames were sturdy, lots of extra closures to lay flat. I was worried at first because the plexiglass was not in place when I opened but it did great once I removed the film. For the price these were just right!

The pins are not as strong as I would have hoped, but the frame itself is high quality. Easy to open, nice finish and it looks great on the wall.

Fantastic price. This is a marvelous 11x14 frame. I believe it was around $16. It's the second frame I have bought from this site. It is so well made and easy to use, whether for a shadow box or a picture frame. The back has those wonderful black toggle-like metal things that secure the picture to the frame. The backing also has a padded effect if you want to use push pins.I will be ordering a couple more. . I like that it comes in so many colors, also.
