XHDATA AN-80 Antenna, ease to use
[How to use XHDATA AN-80 External Antenna]
1. Fix the AN-80 External Antenna outdoors. (It is strictly prohibited to use it during thunderstorms.)
2. Pull out the cord in the box.
3. Use the clip to the rod of the radio to use it.
4. Applicable models: All kinds of radios with whip antennas. (For FM and shortwave (SW) bands).
XHDATA AN-80 Antenna's notes on use
[Attention]
1. The cord is about 720cm / 23 Feets long, pay attention to the distance when using it.
2. Thunderstorm weather needs to recover AN-80 to prevent lightning strikes.
3. Shortwave knowledge: People who have just started listening to shortwave that greatly reduced in interest by the noise from radio, and gave up listening to sw, which is a pity! Indeed, the sound quality of shortwave isn't comparable to the sound quality of FM high-definition broadcasts, but is basically very close to that of medium-wave sound quality. You can use the antenna to enhance the radio's SW reception signal!

I bought this to go with a XhData D109 it worked great, Even cooler is that it attaches to any Antenna. It boosted shortwave reception quickly, and even helped pick up more Fm as well. It quite literally is a very long antenna in your pocket, and once you get a hang of retracting it, it only takes a few seconds to stow it away for the next use. I've used the antenna longer then the radio I bought it for, I would certainly recommend it if you need a boost for your radio signal, especially shortwave.

I didn’t have high expectations for this little antenna, but it surprised me. I use it with a portable SDR system and was pleasantly surprised by its performance in my basement. Great reception and longer length than expected. Highly recommended.

I'm using this with The sun's PL-330. I'm in a noisy suburb with significant interference and tried this in my backyard as far away from the house as possible.It did boost the signal by a small, but fairly insignificant amount. The problem is that it also boosted the interference by a greater amount relative to the small improvement in reception. In other words, I received better audio using the telescopic antenna built into my PL-330.If you're in a very low noise area, this may offer you a slight improvement, but if interference is already an issue for you, this probably isn't the antenna for you.Will probably just need to get myself a magnetic loop antenna.

Even indoors! I just bought a small SWL radio for fun, and knew I'd want a better antenna than the supplied whip, and that a long wire like this would help. It really does help! Inexpensive and convenient to clip onto something, draw it to the radio and plug it in. Winding up is pretty easy too, but the indent could be a little deeper and I'd prefer a clockwise rotation for wind up, but that's pretty insignificant compared to the signal boost. I'm not willing to put something up outside or in the attic, so this suits my needs well and takes no more storage space than a deck of cards.

Signal reception is outstanding. Previously I was not getting any FM channel. After installing this device, I am able to hear all FM channel available. Product quality is very good.

For the price it appears to be well made, it was all I needed for travel. Much more convenient and neater than a pice of wire and alligator clip.

I installed this on my balcony which has very good ventilation and well protected from rain. The product is good but too expensive for the plastic construction. Strongly built though. Essentially this has well made 3.5mm socket and clip package extended by 23ft slim cable which can be clipped directly to either antennae or inserted into in 3.5mm jack provided in the radio. During scanning it definitely improves the quality of MW and FM, improved weak signals and picked up some 90+ SW stations from Chennai City location. But only two of MW stations are bright. Further no scope for anymore MW stations. To bad 🥴... FM stations are crystal clear and SW stations mostly are fringy and blurry excepting South koria and Chinese channels.. Here overcast weather also plays the villain. Overall the purchase donot disappoint but cannot over expect also. The cable is flimsy and could have been made better ✖ï¸ðŸ‘This being a review made in very early time any other defects observed will be posted in my next review after 1 or 2 monthsðŸ‘ðŸ‘
