I wasted so much time trying to troubleshoot my shifting problem after replacing the 15 year old one that completely failed. This one allowed it to shift into reverse fine and only intermittently into forward gears. After further investigation, I determined the potentiometer inside this sensor had a dead spot and would not send return voltage back to the computer in certain positions. Long story short, I replaced with the right part from Honda and it works just as designed. The Honda part was $10 more and did what it was supposed to do.Maybe I got a bad one, but I just wish I replaced with an authentic part the first time around.

I installed it and my Honda Foreman totally failed to shift at all. So I put the original back on and it is shifting correctly now for 3 months.
