I had to hammer out a threaded pin on an old tool I am restoring. Of course, hammering it out mashed up the threads. I really didn’t think I was going to be able to fix them. But this little tool, and some tap magic oil, did the trick. I had to chase the thread multiple times, but in the end, it worked. Well worth the money.

This gadget saved the crank. Picked up a project bike with the crank end smashed from someone trying to remove fly wheel. After grinding away the mushroom part, was left with crappy threads, didn't want to risk tap/die as it removes too much material so picked this gadget up. Just ran the thread cleaner from the good side backwards a few time and the nut finally grabbed on. Saved a crank shaft what is obsolete as well.

It was more expensive than I thought it should be, but when you can fix an existing bolt in a few minutes rather than spending an hour going to a store, it makes up for it. Its made well and did the job

This worked well on a steering column shaft that had been hammered on the end . I was able to put this on the good thread and work it to to the end , until i got it to the point I gould fit a normal die on and finish it up.

I was trying to repair the threads on a 3/8†hot tub pump and couldn’t even get a thread chaser to engage. Three turns and I was able to get the impeller back on the stater spindle. Highly recommended!
