The minute I unwrapped this Anova container I knew I loved it. Pure brilliance. 12 quart size is a good size for my needs. After using my Anova Sous Vide in a regular Dutch oven or stockpot, I feel quite spoiled now. No going back. No complaints what so ever regarding this product.

You don't technically *need* a container. You can use a pot, but this container sure makes life so much easier. This 12L container is also excellently designed with an included rack for clipping bags and a cover to preserve heat and reduce evaporation. We cooked a roast for 22 hours and had practically no evaporation. Cleanup is quick and easy, and I use the container and box to store the entire sous vide setup including the circulator.

1. I purchased the TRIROCK Collapsible Stainless Steel Sous Vide Rack which can be taken apart so it stores inside the Anova container.2. The Anova sous vide unit stores easily inside the container.3. Plastic for making sous vide bags fit inside container.4. When I reach for the container everything is in one easy to locate place.5. Container comes with a rack to stop food from floating above water line and a lid to stop evaporation. Very convenient.6. I'm over 70 and not very strong but the handles on each side of the container make it easy for me to lift even when full of meat and water. Very convenient.7. Anova container is pricey.8. Over all the Anova 12 qt container is a good grade plastic, with perfect capacity for my cooking and storage needs. I have used it at least a dozen times so I'm confident with my assessment. Recommended.

I got the 12L and think it is about perfect - it was 59.99 when I bought it. I went for the smaller one as I knew it would be easier to store when not in use and hoped it would be large enough. When I first got my Anova cooker I thought I would just use a large chili/soup pot I already had so I made a make shift lid and it worked. The big pot was a pain because it was just too tall and held too much water. I read others complain about this container's rack and how sturdy the sides are. My rack has little clear plastic feet on the ends and fit into the container very secure and I can not make the sides flex enough to have the rack fall out of place. Maybe the 12L is stiffer than the 16L because its smaller. In the pic I have 5 steaks in the cooker that are 1.5+ pounds each. That's close to 8lbs of ribeye's and strips. Everything I have wanted to put in so far has fit. I checked the counter temp under the cooker while using this and it stays 15 to 20 degrees cooler on the counter than in the water bath. This thing is expensive but compared to some other set ups it is probably worth the price.

This works well with the Anova nano circulator. I can't say for the regular size Anova since I don't have one. This container is very easy to use and the rack helps keeping food down to an extent. However, the only thing is that you have to fill the water pretty high since the minimum water level line on the circulator sits a few inches from the top of the container. Otherwise, a solid product.
