The quality of the wire and connectors is good. However, the red wire MC4 lead is male and so is the solar panel connector. The polarity reversing adapter is a critical component here. The industry should standardize the wiring/connectors colors and mating to avoid confusion.

The connectors are waterproof, yet not too difficult to unsnap when needed.

Works fine. Took me a little time to figure out that the positive and negative were opposite of the system I was attaching the panels to. Once I put on the adapters, everything worked.

The rating 4 is over one simple issue, I was using this on a 200 W Renogy Solar Panel and the RC 4 connections are reversed. The quality of the cord is good and the connections are good, just the RC4 connections are reversed. It does come with a SAE Polarity Reverse Adapter which then makes it easy to correct the other end of the cords. So it works great.
