It holds a lot of weight on thick steel (my scale said 25 lbs) but not on modern appliances. The surface quality chart is great, but I severely underestimated how thin the steel is with my appliances. New stainless steel refrigerator doors are now so thin they often won't hold magnets and it only held 2 lbs on the side of my new fridge. With my older (10+ years) appliances, it held 4-6 lbs. Those measurements are with the non-slip, anti-scrath pad, I found that for my appliances it held about 2/3 as much weight without the pad. For use in my kitchen to hold dish towels, I supplemented with additional magnets to reduce slipping. Based on how thin the steel is with new kitchen appliances, I'm really glad I shopped for a super-strong magnet.

I needed some hooks for our Traeger smoker. Was hoping they were durable enough for outside use.Holy cow! The magnets are like concrete once stuck to metal!Put a 10lb bag on one hook...just to see, and it didn't even slide an inch!

I bought these to hang coats on the metal wall in the garage. The hooks are nice looking, well built, but not as strong as I thought. They have lighter weight capacity than I anticipated, and will hold a typical weight coat if you gently hang it on the hook, but if it has any force, it slides down. I have 4 stars for looks and design, and deducted one star for lack of a stronger magnet.

These magnet hooks hold my coat- they don't slip with the weight. I recommend these for metal doors!

I have purchased the standard knob-shaped (chess-piece-shaped) hooks. They are really good.I thought I would try these and I like them just as much.Strong gripping power and they come in black black for when you need that.I will be buying more!
