I use this nutcracker gently after seeing the reviews that mention breakage after a few uses. I havent exoerienced any breakage. My parents had a flat basket filled with various nuts on their coffee table with a nutcracker that looked line a crabcracker. This nutcracker would be good for that use, only a few nuts in a sitting. I would not use this nutcracker to process any quantity of nuts because it needs to be adjusted frequently if the size of the nuts change. I have some walnuts that are too small for this cracker.The size of the cracker is smaller than expected. I attached 5 photos. One with my hand, and the other with an average sized tea spoon for size comparison; a photo showing the walnuts that are too small (even after adjusting the ends as close as they can go toward each other). I also attached a photo of a walnut ready to be cracked end to end, and the whole halves that the cracker leaves you with. The cracker has a short throw, or a small amount of movement with the arm. This cracker does produce nice full nut halves without breakage.

Hickory nuts are delicious but almost impossible to crack. But this sturdy nutcracker made the job doable and fun. I kept the nutcracker wrapped in the mailing material when using so that the shells didn't fly allover the room. Easy and fun to use.

I bought several at Christmas as stocking stuffers. They’re cheaply made, with lots of loose, wiggly parts, but they work pretty well, certainly better than the “plier†type nut cracker. They’re easily adjustable for large (ie, walnut) and smaller (like almonds) nuts, and do a good job keeping you from crushing the nut when you do open the shell. Bottom line, they’re not fantastic, but you get what you pay for. That’s fair in my book.

J’ai acheté ce casse-noix pour des noix de noyer et honnêtement ça fonctionne pas du tout…. Les noix de caryer ça passe bien, mais noyer trop dur pour cette appareil qui semble trop fragile… un peu déçu. Doit être bon pour toute les noix sauf celles que je voulais casser….

Bought this for my father in law who has Parkinsons and it is so much easier than trying to squeeze a traditional nut cracker
