Cleaver machine. Jaws adjustable for nut size and serrated so nut does not move. Easy action, cracks every time. Inset into a well made sturdy wooden box that collects the nut shells. Cracks a big bag of nuts in a jiffy. Well worth the investment. Solid and will last for years.

This nut cracker is REALLY sturdy and can crack walnuts and brazil nuts super easy. It's almost fun to use! Cracks the shells and the meats are whole or nearly. The box it sits in has a lower lip all around it so it contains the shells nicely. Easy to dump out shells. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. Product works great, keep broken pieces contained, especially good on pecans & walnuts, Brazil nuts need multiple positions/ cracks to break open. Sturdiness is good.

Easy to use. Thick shelled hickory and walnut nuts cracked easily. Thin shelled Pecans were no match. Very well built. The rubber insert, the jaws squeeze against, would come out and takes some looking after if you dump the nut holder. Purchased for my 70 year old mother. She is able to use this nut cracker with no struggle.

We have a lot of Black Walnut trees on our property that my grandfather planted back in the 70s. It used to be we had to fight the squirrels for them, but now that the trees are much bigger we are able to harvest some for ourselves. We had an old nut cracker that worker but not that great. This nut cracker on the other hand is fun to use and does a great job breaking the shells and exposing the nuts.

I sent it to my sister in Texas for her pecan tree harvest. The pecans splintered but didn't crack into whole pieces. It might have been that the shells on her pecans were too hard. Also, the nut picks were too thick and dull to help much.
