We have tried all the colors of resin to print mini's for D&D. The black is very difficult to see the detail to paint it, really have to prime it first, which isn't a huge deal. The problem though is it's hard to see which is support and what is suppose to be there, it also seems more brittle than other color's. We found it breaks more easily. We prefer the gray. We use the black we have for large items since they have less small breakable areas. The clear is more of a frosted glass look than glass. It yellows if cured too long, we normally start with a min cure and it doesn't yellow. The opacity is nice though, takes a wash well to make it other colors. The white is fine, not see-thru, and the details are more difficult to see. The translucent green is interesting, hard to pick out details, but with some dry brushing you still have the opacity with detail. The smell isn't bad, very sticky, gloves recommended. Gray is best!

This was the first resin I used with my new printer, and it took some time to find an approach to it. After 6 failed prints I finally got it working with my printer, and here are my findings.COLOR: the black plant based resin is NOT black. It's smoky grey, see the photo. Thin walls are semi-transparent grey. Even in thick details it's not black. If you need real black color, a single layer of spray paint fixes this, and adhesion of spray paint to this resin is really good.SMELL: it is supposed to be low odor. Well, yes, but no. If you don't have a good ventilation system, you'd need a respirator to stay even in another room. However, once I added a 6" cylinder carbon filter and a 110 CFM fan to my setup, the odor has gone.PERFORMANCE: using the default timings I got lots of corrupted details, detached from supports partially during printing and correspondingly corrupted in shape. This was fixed by increasing exposition time by 20% over the recommended by the vendor. In my case, the recommended time of Anycubic plant based resin with Anycubic Photon Mono X2 printer is 2.5 seconds; I had to increase this to 3 seconds to get my models printed normally.SUPPORTS: anything bigger than a plum requires heavy supports (in terms of Anycubic Workshop). Medium supports don't guarantee holding the weight of the printed model. And heavy supports require tools to remove (I use a chisel).WARPS: thin flat walls warp a lot even with added stiffeners. Thick details (4+ mm) keep the shape.HARDNESS: thin walls are brittle. Thicker details are fine. I have also printed a few gears in this resin - they work but I feel that they won't survive long.OVERALL: quite good for decorative items once you find proper approach to it and know its limitations. I will buy it again.
