Yep. Was in your dilemma. Do I buy the cheaper filing cabinet or spring for the slightly more expensive one? Sprung for this one and am happy I did.Here’s how I weighed buying this one. Originally, did a field trip to the local office supply store and compared one much like this to other less expensive ones on the floor. The one like this (recessed handles) was much sturdier and the drawers opened smoothly. However, that cabinet was too big for my needs.Knew a cheaper model would work, but be a bit flimsy, based on buying similar one a few years ago. Also, later had to buy caddy wheels for it. (Those run $30-50.)Explored Amazon to see if same recessed handle cabinet was available in a smaller size. Based on field observation and prior reviews, took a chance this one would be similar quality. Plus, the size was perfect to go under my desk, and came already assembled and equipped with wheels.Received a big box. (FedEx guy even brought it into the house! YMMV) The filing cabinet is very well packed. Double-walled box with extra thick cardboard lining the inside. Used a soft blanket as a landing pad when pulling cabinet from the box. The only hinky thing was a strip of yellow packing tape stuck to the cabinet surface a little. Quick pass with rubbing alcohol and everything looks just fine.Once out of the box, wheeled it into place and dropped in letter-sized hanging files. Also comes two metal dividers to customize drawers.Can’t vouch for longevity yet, but think this cabinet should hold up to normal use. (It’s similar in quality to the nice one at the office supply store.) The drawers move smoothly and lock easily with supplied keys. Seems perfectly sturdy for a home office.Update: been a few months and still like this filing cabinet. You do have to open one drawer at a time to prevent tip over, but that’s manageable.Added bumpers to the bottom back and sides to protect baseboards and walls. Had some of these from another project and they look nice and are doing the job. I just received it and haven’t loaded it yet so I can’t comment on that. It came packed very well and in perfect condition. It was advertised as having the wheels already attached and they weren’t which was disappointing. However, the wheels and all of the various nuts and bolts and tools were individually wrapped and labeled very nicely. The diagrams were initially difficult to understand because some were too small to see the size of the bolts. Once I understood the wheels were easily attached and stable and easy to roll in all directions. The drawers easily slide in/out. The key works to lock the cabinet. Good purchase.

It is a good file cabinet, but is was shipped defective. Can I still use it? Yes. Was it damaged prior to shipping? Yes. How do I know...the packaging was in excellent condition. There was thick foam top and bottom with extra plastic to protect the corners. And yet, you can see that the corner of the cabinet is crusher. The plastic corner on that side would have been cracked at the very least. I do not have time or the patience or the strength to return it.

The cabinet was exactly as described. The most important feature was I did not have to assemble it and the packaging was amazing!

Exactly what I was looking for except… there is No allowance for space for the hanging folder tabs. They get caught in the drawer each time I close them. Quite a bit inconvenient because we have to keep it locked all the time. I thought the $30 shipping was exorbitant too. Value would’ve been better if the shipping weren’t so expensive. I did like that it didn’t need to be assembled, except for the casters.

Cabinet came assembled, except for the wheels, which I don't need anyway. I did need to switch from letter to legal size and was able to do so easily, after looking at the instructions that came with it. Cabinet came very well packaged. Outer box was damaged in shipping, but cabinet had no damage. I'm very pleased with the quality and sturdiness. I've had cabinets in the past that the metal was so thin that the door fronts bent when pulling the handle. This one does NOT bend. Love the sleek design and the draw pulls being integral with the drawer face. Would highly recommend for this price.

It's a decent file cabinet but unusable for me. The top drawer doesn't close when using hanging folders with standard label tabs, there is not enough clearance for the tabs. I would think that both drawers would accept hanging folders with tabs. I would have never thought this would be the case when purchasing the item. The bottom drawer does accept the hanging folders with tabs just fine. If I had known this when I would have never bought it. I would return it but when I unpacked it I didn't use it right away and discarded the packaging.
