So some time back, I wanted to try to make my own sea monkey tank. I read that sea monkeys are marine shrimp. Well, I made sea water salinity. All my sea monkeys died.Now, I bought another sea monkey kit. I measured the salinity for the water that came with the kit. It's actually closer tobrackish!Now I know why all my initial tank sea monkeys died.I also have a couple opae ula tanks with brackish water. I now know my salinity to the t.It comes with a few eye droppers. And a little screw driver to calibrate with distilled water.If you have brackish needs, this is a neat gadget to have so you know your exact salinity.

I have another refractometer and given their potential damage from drops, I decided to get a second one. This one came with 5 pipettes, which is excessive but awesome! It also came with a screwdriver to calibrate and cleaning cloth. It was within .001 specific gravity of my other refractometer and I don't know which is most accurate but that's good enough for me. I keep my salinity between 1.024 and 1.026.

Works great and is easy to use great instructions as well. Comes with four droppers and window is crystal clear. Tester is spot on! Looks just like the picture and case is padded and very well protected.

I've bought another cheap refractometer from amazon, and it was junk. Wouldn't hold a calibration, couldn't focus the view finder so that scale was always blurry. This one is the complete opposite! It only required a very minor tightening of the screw to get it in calibration, it honestly wasn't far off. It seems to hold that calibration very well too. The scale is easy to read and get it into focus. Overall, I'm really impressed with this refractometer.

I've got 8 reef tanks so I'm always looking for a refractometer to check my salinity. This one is well priced and works fine. It was dialed in out of the box, checked against ro/di. Works well and doesn't need constant adjustment. Though if you do need to adjust it, it's easy enough using the small, supplied screwdriver.

I have another refractometer that lost it's calibration and was about impossible to get back to accurate. This one was dead on out of the box and so far has remained consistent.

I ordered this the minute it showed up in my Vine feed because I raise brine shrimp aka sea monkeys as pets and it's important to know the salinity of their water. This was my first time using a refractometer and it couldn't have been easier. This is a very useful tool for anyone that needs to monitor salinity for whatever reason.
