This is the forth one of these that I have bought. There isn't another that I have found that has any depth to the basket like this one does. The last one I ordered came without a box. Just a label on it, It was totally bend out of shape. If I didn't have a friend who could straiten it out for me it would have been a loss. THIS ONE, came in a regular box and arrived in perfect condition. Don't know if its Amazon or the seller, but this time I am Very happy. Still the best, better than all the rest.

We got this skimmer to help clean some of the pond meal off of a pond. It has worked well for what we can reach with it. The debris doesn’t stick to the net. The pole is adjustable and is sturdy for skimming light to medium weight debris. It’s worth the $.

This is exactly what I wanted, a fine net to catch the debri floating in the pond and some of the sludge/silt stirred up. Some claim it doesn't catch the silt, but by use, I can say it does. And that is why it isn't what I WISHED I had received. It turns out that it is so fine that you have to wait as the water drains through the silt each time, and eventually it will break the handle or my back. As a surface pond skimmer, maybe a little too fine, and as a sludge cleaner, maybe too weak. Still, it was exactly what I ordered.

It’s a skim that it was in a package. It was perfect. It was delivered on time. There’s nothing wrong. It’s really a good deal. Very happy with the company. Very happy with the delivery delivery and I’ll do it again when it wears out.

The pole is definitely heavy duty and I expect it will last for many years, but I still consider it light weight even if it is heavier than some other options out there. Who knows for certain how durable a new item is, but it does seem likely to last longer than the last net because the net is made of a durable, small woven mesh that I'm guessing will be less likely to catch on a rock. I was initially thinking about returning it because I was skeptical the more shallow net pocket would be safe to catch fish. Yesterday I caught 10-12 goldfish (3"-6") in less than 10mins with someone using my old net to make it harder for them to get away. I think it will be fine with my larger 12" fish. Completely happy with the purchase.A couple warning notes: if you have shoulder or wrist issues and you find skimming difficult I'm guessing this one will be a little harder than some others because the mesh is smaller and requires more force to get through the water quickly when chasing fish. If I had larger fish like koi, the depth of the net would still be a concern.

literature indicated this unit extends to 10 feet which was one of the reasons I purchased it. The real extension is more like 8ft. The unit can not be fully extended to skim anything other than a water bug. The netting is very fine which creates more weight in the net as you attempt to drain the water out. This has the affect of reducing the amount of leaves you can remove with each use otherwise you simply bend the extension pole. the overall weight is nice and could reduce fatigue however the fine netting counteracts this feature a will reduce the life of the skimmer. If you have a small pond without an abundance of deciduous trees and don't need the full extension this might be a nice purchase. If you're like me with a larger pond and lots of maples don't buy it!- After less than 1 yeast of use the extension pole failed. During my first true fall of utilizing this new it literally bent in half just making leaves out of the pond

Love it. Picks up all the fine debris and algae. I use it with Aquascape 40006 flocculant which is fish/ plant safe and clumps things. I also use it with Aquascape 80001 filter pads in my skimmer. Scoop does well on flat surface. Does ok on corners and worst on curved surfaces. Pole is sturdy enough to withstand pressure from fine mesh. Adjustable pole with hanging loop to dry. Able to pick up small peas stones and toys my kids throw in. Net has a plastic guard to protect and slide along bottom surface. If you're careful, rinse after each use, store out of sun (mine is in garage), don't pick up sharp twigs or rub along rough surfaces, the net will last. I have had mine over 3 years and recently purchased my second. High value and worth it. PS, wish they sold replaceable skimmer without pole.

Works well for getting occasional debris out of pond. Seems durable and telescoping handle comes in handy.

Super sturdy and well made. I have a 1000 gallon outside pond and I use it to scoop up algae that i've brushed off the walls with a broom and this net is perfect. I use to clean up floating debris in the pond also. I've bought other nets before and they break every 1-2 years. I just bought this so i don't know but it looks really sturdier made than the others. It comes from big Al's in Ottawa which is the best pet shot i've ever seen. I don't work for them or even know them but i make the 2 hour trip from Montreal just to buy stuff from them. I don't know what i would do without them so i want them to have success.

Arrived bent and broken. I salvaged the netting and installed it on my old one.Functional and light. My old one last three years with light, intermittent use.

Works well. It is just slightly wobbly at full extension but nothing that has been a problem. Easy to clean.
