I had some reservations about purchasing this with "so-so" reviews. Have a (9 gal) stone garden fountain with a String Algae issue. My fountain incorporates simple water plants and naturally growing mosses (no fish). Concerned about plants and mosses being exposed to an algaecide. So with caution I dosed sparingly (1/2 strength) every other day. 6th day conspicuous improvement. String Algae dying and dead, BUT plants and mosses unaffectedðŸ‘! I maintain my 'sweet-spot' dose upon every water added topping off. Dead pieces of algae have to be removed manually (adios!) Be PATIENT. Go slow when other plant forms are involved. (No fish here, so cannot adviseðŸ™)

Careful when using this. All algicides will raise the pH but so far I like this one best. It gets rid of algae fast so always use as little as possible, I actually use half doses with pH down to get rid of it slowly. Good value, packaged well didn't leak arrived fast.

If I could give negative stars I would. The video for this product shows a woman putting it into her Koi pond which gives the illusion it is safe for Koi. It also states in its advertising to be safe for fish and plants. This product almost killed my entire Koi pond. I spent 16 hours emptying my pond in a panic because all of my fish were gasping for air, I have a 5000 gallon Koi pond with plenty of aeration as well as a large waterfall . I spoke to numerous specialist, who all told me this product should be taken off the market as it is poison. It has misleading claims and misleading advertising. I can’t stress enough not to buy this product. In addition to killing 2 baby fish, it also killed plants in my pond.This product needs to be taken off the market!!! I cannot stress enough, not to buy this product.

Bought it because it claimed not to harm fish, I don't have fish but wanted to protect frogs living in the pond. I don't think it's strong enough to kill string algea.

I applied this product per instructions listed on container to clear up algae in my pond that was making the water green. My pond is about 12,000 gallons with a waterfall feature. I am trying to get it clear so I can see my koi. I continued to increase the dosage after initial couple doses showed no effect. Ultimately I used all 2 1/2 gallons, along with another 2 1/2 gallons of a similar product and did not really see any clearing of the water.
