The size ordered was a 7-1/4, and it fits as it should.It is a bit deeper than I would normally wear, it sits lower on my head than I am used to, the welding helmet tends to push it down onto the top of my ears.If I tuck my ears into it, I don't notice as much.It does interfere with safety glasses when worn low, the bigger the temples on the safety glasses the worse it will be.The spot on the top where the seams all come together is a bit raised, the top strap on the welding helmet hits this spot and makes it rub on the top of your head.It is not as bad as a baseball cap with a button there, but you do notice it after a while.When worn with the brim to the back, it rubs on your neck when you look up, but the brim can be folded up so that it does not rub when welding overhead.When worn with the brim in the front, you can only see what is down in front of you, it blocks straight ahead and up views.This is thick enough on top that I had to extend the top strap of my welding helmet one notch to make it fit with the cap on.

These are great. I prefer these over some name brand ones I've used over the years.High quality materials, craftsmanship is outstanding and the durability holds up to some serious abuse.Just buy one and you'll not regret it.Highly recommend.

First things first, I have a huge melon and I didn't really measure before getting this, so the band barely fits me. My bad. Weirdly though, there is still quite a bit of extra room on the top of the head. I like a skullcap like fit. I thought maybe it would be better for my son. The band fits him fine, but there is still so much headroom on this thing that it looks like he's wearing a pope hat.I am willing to accept that this is a me / us problem. The fabric seems durable and there are no loose stitches or anything. Maybe we got a bum one or something. I don't really have the time or energy to follow up on that myself. There are plenty of reviewers that are finding these to be great, so again, it could just be a me thing.

This ARCCAPTAIN 8 panel welding cap is high quality and well made. It is built like a tank and even has a "sweat band" section that is soft and comfortable all around my head. The cap is deep and easy to get ears covered. The bill is large enough to protect my ears and neck when welding on my side. Super functional with good style and simple blank design. At $18 it's a great value.

When I measured my head I was going back and forth between 7-1/4 and 7-3/8. I got the 7-1/4 and as expected, it is a little snug, but the sizing appears to be very accurate.It's pretty comfortable to wear for a few hours, and it does keep the sparks out of your hair and off the back of your neck, which is why we buy these in the first place. I did have to adjust my welding helmet to get it to fit while wearing this.

As luck would have it, I was able to use this right away. While clearing snow, my machine broke and I had to do some welding. This cap feels great on, is warm, and never moved at all under my helmet. The fact that it is a warm hat was a bonus since I had to work in 5 degrees. I highly recommend this for professional or amateur welders.

Oh boy is this cap comfortable. Fits great under my welding helmet. Lighter weight caps will let the helmet slide around and bug you to death. This cap is heavy weight and doesn't move with taking helmet off or putting it on. Don't hesitate, get on!!!!
