The decorative cover wraps around the bottom of the post and is constructed of ABS with UV inhibitors to resist fading and discoloration. The wrap around cover hides unsightly concrete work.

Kit includes all hardware, universal mounting plate, and instructions. Very easy and the included bolts, nuts and washers are very big and heavy duty. Pleasantly surprised, completed look much more expensive than price paid here in Amazon. FYI, I purchased a "returned, like-new" one here at nice discount and it is perfect and looks just great.

Excellent that it come with the universal mail box plate that matches my huge mail box perfectly! Very easy to put together and very sturdy and good looking. Thank you so much! I just wish it could be a black color to match my mail box, but brown is ok.

Installing this post was pretty easy. The decorative shell at the bottom was not of the best material, but I hope it will last. According to most instructions the post is a little short as you have only 10" of it in the ground.

The post is attractive however the part most vulnerable to break, the collar is plastic. I did not read the description well enough. Not sure how long it will last.

Bought for my daughter who lives in the country. This is a high quality product. Her husband was able to put it in the ground. Great value for the money. They receive a lot of mail so this was perfect.
