I needed a secure battery box for the front of my trailer. I planned on replacing the lead acid battery with 4 x 100Ah Litium batteries. They're spendy, so wanted to lock them, and they don't like excessive heat either. So I chose this box as it was the largest box that would fit between the propane tanks and the trailer body, was silver (not black) to reflect heat, and had a diamond plate exterior that exactly matched the existing front of the trailer.I had read the reviews about the thinness of the metal and was a little concerned about supporting 100# of batteries. It has worked out perfectly however. The box is sitting on the trailer frame, so the middle is nicely supported. It is plenty strong like that. The center front latch wouldn't work for me (because of the tanks) so I installed some draw latches...which are lockable (see photos). The box is much larger than the batteries themselves, so I also drop a sewer hose and leveling blocks in it. Bonus!Overall...I am delighted the way this worked out.I also noticed reviews commenting on shipping damage. My box arrived perfectly. I think some improvements have been made to the packaging as there were reinforcements at the corners.I would highly recommend this box for this application.

I bough this box for the back of my truck to put groceries in, at first my review was not favorable but after going back and reevaluate it it will work fine to go to the store and put stuff in and it is lockable for the price I paid I got my money's worth

The walls seem thin and was slightly damaged on one of the corners when I received it . The damage wasn’t bad enough for me to return it . Even though it’s a light weight box it’s strong enough to easily hold 2 adults sitting on lid, like a bench . The 2 gas shocks are nice too.

Works ok, don't expect water tight as it leaks like a sieve from factory. Salt from northern roads destroyed the shine but still works ok. Filled the lever mechanism with heavy grease which seems to keep most water out.

This tool box is exactly what I was looking for. Other people’s reviews say that the aluminum is thin. The aluminum is thin however for the price you pay it’s exactly what I expected. It’s certainly not a super high end tool box but it is wonderful for the price. I’d rather have a good price as long as it works; which it does. The shipping was crazy fast but it’s not packed well as others indicated. I too has to straighten a bent corner. Fits perfectly in a Ford Ranger bed with the low profile look I was after. I don’t regret the purchase.

Arrived early with no defects. The storage box is sturdy and secures well. Depending on the weight of items to be stored in the box, it might be a good idea to re-enforce the bottom with 1/4 plywood. I'm going to. After all it is "Heavy Duty Aluminum". Other than that, I'm pleased with the purchase.

At the price, it’s hard to complain. These boxes are reasonably well made. The aluminum is thick enough to seem sturdy. The kids close right. The latches are nice. I didn’t like the hinges all that much. They seem a bit lacking. But I think they will be fine. My only real gripe is that I had to adjust both latches for the lids to close fully. It was easy. Common sense got it done. It didn’t take any complicated instructions. But the fact that a brand new box came that way kinda frustrated me. Still, they are worth the buy and I expect to get many years of service from them.
