ARM & HAMMER HardBall is my favorite litter—I should know, I have 16 cats! It clumps exceptionally well and doesn’t stick to the box at all, making cleaning so much easier. I’ve tried several ARM & HAMMER litters, and this one is by far the best! I also feel like it lasts longer than any other brand I’ve used. It has a mild, pleasant scent—though I prefer unscented—but I hardly notice it anymore. Plus, it’s dustless, has very low tracking, and does an excellent job of covering odors—I never smell urine. I also love that the larger size comes in a bag, while the smaller sizes come in a box that’s almost impossible for me to open and pour out. The bag is so much more convenient!

This really make nice HARD clumps from urine. Does not leave half of the wet mess in the littler pan in little tiny pieces. The only down side is that it really doesn't take care of the odor. I bought a separate deodorizer to take care of that issue until I can get to the pan and scoop it.

This Hard Ball Litter effectively cleans the litter box and controls odor! It’s fast and easy cleanup keeps the rest of the litter clean and untouched! It’s a bit more expensive, but it’s so effective - no more broken clumps falling into the litter box and expanding the mess and odor. Hard Ball litter is fantastic! Wish I’d learned about it sooner! It’s a bit more expensive but worth a try. Highly recommend this product!

Cat litter - I love and hate it. I love that I don't have to take my cat on walks and follow it around with plastic bags to pick up steaming piles of rank, soft poo. So it is great that the cat can go when it wants, indoors. On the other hand, I never want my house to smell like a toilet, so I am very particular about cat litter. I clean the litter box every day; as part of my morning routine, and dump and replace all the litter (and sanitize the box) monthly.I have tried all kinds of litter boxes from simple pans, to expensive automatic self-cleaning boxes, including decorative enclosed boxes (hidden) in nice looking wood furniture. I have a large (14 lb) male cat, and he is assertive with his digging and cover up. He also sometimes pees on the inside wall of the box, so a high wall box is critical for us. We have found that top entry boxes are the best overall for containing waste, smell, and litter spray when digging, as well as minimizing tracking. The basic Amazon one is good, but the PetCo brand is by far the best (pricey, but worth it!) because it has a larger walking area on the top to capture litter. This litter drops back into the box with a neat hinge when you clean it. This model is also the easiest to clean because the hinge top is very, very convenient. With the Amazon box, you have to remove the top and put it aside. If you clean the PetCo box daily (which is very easy to do), it outperforms the expensive self-cleaning units, by far, in mess and odor control. Cleaning daily is much easier if you keep a bag dispensing scoop handy and toss out the daily bag of waste. When it comes to litter, there are 5 critical factors IMO (ranked in order of importance to me, as #1 is the most important):Odor control. If litter doesn’t contain odor, what is the point? That is its #1 job!Hard clumping. Scrapping a mushy litter paste off the bottom or side wall is awful, messy, time consuming, and disgusting. Plus it leaves your scoop all gross.Low tracking. I don’t want litter all over the house. Keep it in the box please!Price. It is a regular purchase, so it adds up. Price matters.Low dust. I don’t want to feel like I am breathing in poison or getting permanent lung damage every time I change the litter box. Here is my breakdown of some of the leading brands. Note the best solution is last.Dr. Elsey’s Ultra (total 19 points):Odor Control: 55555 stars: I never smell waste even after 30 days of use.Hard Clumping: 4444 stars: works pretty good for 15 days, in the second half of the month, I am occasionally scraping pasty off the walls, but not always, it is pretty good for most of the month.Low Tracking: 4444 stars: the granules are large enough that most of them stay in box; however, there is always some that sticks to his feet and gets scattered nearby.Price: 333 stars: not the cheapest, but not really expensive either.Low Dust: 333 stars: always a cloud of dust when I fill the box. It settles quickly, and I don’t see any more until I fill it next month.Arm & Hammer HardBall (total 19 points):Odor Control: 55555 stars: I never smell even even after 30 days of use.Hard Clumping: 55555 stars: fast and hard clumping, pee on the side wall comes off in a clean hard clump without pasty scraping … very nice!Low Tracking: 22 stars: the granules are very small, so there is alot more tracking.Price: 22 stars: it is pricey.Low Dust: 55555 stars: no dust when I pour, no dust all month.Fresh Step (total 16 points):Odor Control: 4444 stars: I don’t smell much but odor control starts to fade near the end of the month.Hard Clumping: 22 stars: clumping is not that great plenty of pasty scrapping, especially in the back half of the monthLow Tracking: 333 stars: the granules are smaller, so there is more tracking.Price: 4444 stars: it is cheap and readily available in bulk at places like Sams and Costco.Low Dust: 333 stars: lots of dust when I pour, and some dust when the cat stirs it.Boxie Cat (total 10 points):Odor Control: 1 star: Started good, but in only 3 days I had the very strong odor of cat urine - no odor control after a few days.Hard Clumping: 22 stars: Started good, but daily pasty scrapping after 3 days.Low Tracking: 22 stars: the granules are very small, so there is alot more tracking.Price: 1 stars: it is crazy expensive with TONS of marketing you are paying for.Low Dust: 4444 stars: some dust when I pour, not much after that.Mixed! The best solution I have found is to mix ⅓ Arm & Hammer HardBall with ⅔ Dr. Elsey. This way you get all of the benefits of Dr. Elsey with the added hardening from Arm and Hammer. (total 20 points):Odor Control: 55555 stars: no smell all month.Hard Clumping: 55555 stars: Already good clumping from Dr Elsey, beefed up Arm & Hammer’s HardBall formula.Low Tracking: 333 stars: adding the Arm & Hammer adds a little bit more tracking that you would just get with just Dr. Elsey.Price: 333 stars: not crazy - mixing makes both last longer so pricing is moderate.Low Dust: 4444 stars: less Dr. Elsey means less dust when I pour, not much after that.I hope this helps!

After having cats most of my life I am glad I discovered this cat litter. It clumps so well that cleaning the kitty box is effortless, the smell is very minimal unlike most cat litter. Lastly it is lightweight which is great when taking out the trash.

I will start off by saying that I have been using "health monitoring," non-clumping crystal litter for years. First it was the original Shmetty Schmitter brand, which both I and my cats adored. But when I could barely get through a 7-day week without having to change it out completely, I could no longer justify the exorbitant cost, so I told them and their silly subscription service to kick rocks and switched to less expensive versions that lasted longer. It can be difficult to find an affordable, non-clumping litter and the price adds up when you need 4 bags/month, so I have been trying different litters. Enter this Arm & Hammer Hardball.Out of the gate, the fragrance almost knocked me out when I opened the bag. Not stinky, just HOLY HELL strong. And I'm not particularly sensitive to smells, so that is REALLY saying something. Neither of my cats are at all finicky when it comes to using different litters (as long as it doesn't hurt their feets), but one of them refused to use the box with this stuff in it until I bribed her with a treat. I cannot imagine how overwhelmed their sensitive little snoots are when this "Garden Bloom" nonsense slapped ME in the face like it did.Now on to the good stuff:Dust? None that I can tell - seriously, none. It's almost like wet sand.Tracking? Lowest of any litter I have ever tried, honest to goodness. But I'm used to finding it everywhere, all the time, so your tolerance may vary.Smell? If flowery synthetic fragrance was a genre of music, this would be Swedish death metal. Seriously, wear a helmet. I've only had it in the box for 2 days, but so far, a full grown, lactose-intolerant man with an all-ice cream diet could probably drop a deuce in that box, and all I would smell is Garden Bloom, so my cats' worst poops don't stand a chance.Clumping? Great, for me. "Hardball" is a total misnomer, because it's more like a jiggly rubber ball, but, again- I'm accustomed to no clumping at all, and it clumps enough to scoop into the Litter Ge... I mean, litter waste container... without turning to cement, which is all I need. So, overall, it's good. I took 1.5 star off for the VIOLENT fragrance, and another .5 star for price because I'm not saving much money if I need 2 bags at a time instead of my normal 1 (since you lose so much to the clumps). I know I'm not the only one who has a hard time with the scent, so fingers crossed they start making an unscented version, because I will definitely buy it. As it is now, though, I need to keep looking because it legitimately burns my sinuses.

EDIT: STILL GOOD BUT NOT AS GOOD AS IT WAS. I've been using this for several months now and the clumping properties are still superior but unfortunately, it seems that there has been a change in the formula which has resulted in reduced odour control. For the first few months, there was a very strong scent when the bag was first opened. I didn't find it unpleasant, but I know there were some comments that it was overpowering. Personally, I'd prefer to smell a strong garden bloom scent over the smell of ammonia. I've noticed that the scent is much, much milder which, isn't necessarily bad. However, what is bad is the litter box odour, even with daily scooping. Although the superb clumping and easy scooping, leaves the litter looking clean, the ammonia smell means more frequent dumping of litter that has lots of clumping life left in it, which is very disappointing, especially for the price. I am still using it, for now, but I do hope they either, increase scent ingredients again, or perhaps offer an additional scent booster, which won't interfere with the clumping ability. This is absolutely the BEST cat litter I've ever used. After years of struggling with regular clay litter and clumping cat litter that only half clumps, leaving a sticky mess in the bottom of the litter box, I went on a quest to find something that would be less of a struggle. I found a different Arm & Hammer litter that worked REALLY well but it tracked a lot. I did some research and found the Arm & Hammer Hardball litter which had great reviews, and one strong point was that it was low tracking, so I figured I'd try it. Am I ever glad I did! Like the other Arm & Hammer litter I tried, it forms hard balls which are super easy to scoop out. The texture is very fine, similar to the other one, and it sifts through the litter scoop really well, leaving fresh, clean litter behind, once the clumps and solid waste have been scooped out. After scooping, there are literally, no traces of waste at all. It's like a fresh littler box every time. It is 100% dust free, and lightweight so not only is there less trash to dispose of, but it is lighter too. Although there still is some tracking with this one, it is very manageable, especially if you use a littler mat. It is pricey but, given the fact that you only need to remove small clumps, most of the litter remains in the litter box much longer than with traditional litters so there is much less waste. The scent is quite strong but I don't mind it at all. I have noticed no "litter box smells" since I started using this litter, which is a huge plus. Now, my only complaint is that it is very difficult to find. There are very few places it can be purchased in Canada and unfortunately, it is sold out here on Amazon, and has been for a while. Now that I'm sold on this, I really hope it is back in stock soon!

This is the best litter on the market for multiple cats. But after my first purchase, Amazon decided to get greedy and raised the price by almost 3x what I originally paid.
Loved it, one of the best we've tried to date

Have 2 house cats and have tried about 6 different cat litters ,did all my research on which are best and can honestly say this beats all the others hands down.Bought a little mat which catches cat litter as they exit the litter tray and have noticed I no longer find litter throughout the house .Odour control is brilliant and it clumps really well not like concrete that you can’t remove !Wish it was available in the uk as it can take a little longer to arrive but have got in the habit of ordering next bag when I’m halfway through and it’s free shipping.

Nos encantó a todos. Ya no huele a nada. Aglutina perfecto y dura varios días la arena. No sé si para los gatos es fuerte el aroma pero cambiaré solo de versión pero definitivamente no de marca
