I pulled this guy out of the packaging, added batteries, and then plugged in an electric guitar. I also added a strobe tuner inline to compare. Tuning up, the Aroma was accurate compared to the strobe. (Note that strobes tend to be more accurate than other tuners, so a slight deviation is expected in the Aroma.)Picking off various notes on various strings, the Aroma stayed on par with the strobe, so the accuracy is there. I did note that I had to make sure the guitar was turned all the way up, even on a high-output pickup, or the Aroma could have trouble detecting some notes. I then removed the strobe from the line to eliminate that as a potential problem but found no difference. I tried active and passive electric basses and the experience was the same.I grabbed an acoustic guitar and tried the built-in microphone next. It worked just fine, as did the external microphone. I also tested with a Ukelele and had similar results.The metronome works well and is loud enough for practicing at low volume or acoustic.This is a good piece of gear if you're looking for something that isn't intended to be on a pedalboard or clipped onto your headstock. I'll be keeping this handy in the studio for just that purpose.

I needed a tuner since all my Snarks degraded into goo. I thought I’d try this Ulumac Aroma 3 in 1 Metronome Tuner when it popped up in my Vine offerings. I was not too interested in the other functions it has. It seems to be a good, accurate and responsive instrument.But… After initially being impressed with the included head clamp cable, I have concluded that this device is really only useful in table top use, acoustically. The clamp cable is too short and lightweight. Every time time I tried to use it I ended up with the tuner dangling from the end after dragging it off the table. Same problem with a standard guitar cable, which is too heavy for the tuner to stay in place. This method results in the cable weight dragging the tuner off the table and crashing it to the floor. It does have a nice little folding stand. I use it when there is no cable attached. To use the cables I would have to find a way to secure the tuner, or cable, to something using a clamp, rubber band or Velcro. I gave up and brought another Snark.This Ulumac Aroma 3 in 1 Metronome Tuner seems to be more sensitive and responsive than my new Snark. I will continue to use it, table top and sans cable, only with acoustic instruments. If I want a neck clamp tuner, the Snark works much better for me.

This is a nice little unit. I bought it for the metronome, but the tuner works well too.The metronome can adjust the tempo, number of beat and has several different rhythms. The display visually swings back and forth to the beat and has a different sound for the first beat. LEDs at the top also light on the beat and intermediate beats.The tuner works off the built-in microphone or off the input jack. A wired clamp is included for acoustic instruments. The tuner has a chromatic setting or settings for guitar, bass, ukulele or violin. With the instrument settings it displays which string is being tuned. The pitch is default 440Hz, but can be adjusted. I play acoustic guitar and it tuned well, but I prefer to use a smaller tuner on my head-stock.Lastly, there is a sound mode. This mode will audibly play the notes of the instrument strings to tune by ear. In chromatic it will sound all the notes in the scale, cycling through with each key-press.The unit has a kickstand on back to tilt the display and is powered by two AAA batteries (included). There is a headphone jack on the side with a volume slider. The physical dimensions are 3-7/8†x 5-5/8†x 5/8â€.
