About this item

  • ARS Orchard Lopper, 30" OAL
  • Superior cutting leverage
  • Long lasting sharpness
  • Fantastic durability
  • Top quality balance and ergonomic design for continued use

A lopper worthy of the ARS name, these top quality loppers feature the long lasting sharpness that ARS is known for and are more durable than cheaper loppers. The blades are very sharp and the counter blade is drop forged for superior cutting durability. The handles are designed to support continued heavy use without bending or breaking.

Sharp, cuts through branches well. Made in Japan quality. Would buy again. Would not lend to a friend. Very nice piece of equipment. Will own for a long time. Cannot find Astron loppers stateside.

I have a palm tree and like to cut the browning fronds quickly while it's young and i can still reach them as they turn brown. My wife and I went back and forth about this and other cheaper models... I wanted to try a less expensive brand with ratcheting action, she promised me this would be better. She was right. It cuts through things within its specifications like butter... it'd take off a human finger like it was plucking a seed from a dandelion, so be careful!I can use it to cut things that are much larger if I apply enough force. The mouth is wide and will hold a lot.The shock system is actually pretty nice. it's got some good bounce, so it's different... you can go slow while applying just a little force for things that are within the width it says. The woody palm fronds are like butter to this thing.I've used it for my neighbor's peach trees and I can get through a branch a little smaller than my wrist. It took some effort, but I was still able to do it while standing on a ladder (not recommended).Probably a customer for life and only purchase their products for any kind of cutting needs, but I expect these are going to last a long long time.... i do recommend lubing the blades when you first get it to keep it rust free. don't leave any dirt on it after you use it, don't leave the blades on the ground, etc. just take care of it.

These loppers are expensive. But you get what you pay for, right? After looking at the reviews for the inexpensive loppers and checking out the Fakespot ratings, I decided that I was going to have to pay more to get better quality. The inexpensive ones are all cheap Chinese junk. The ARS loppers are high quality, light weight and sharp enough to easily cut through the 3/4" magnolia tree branches that were blocking the spray from my sprinkler head.

Super sharp jaw. No more crunching or just crushing the branch and having to yank on it. I've cut back my neighbor's palm tree about a million times. It's up over my head and I have to grab a bit of it and pull it towards me to get a good bite. My old loppers always crushed the palm leaves so I had you yank and saw at them. This guy goes through like butter. I'd like to see an adjustable handle version too but this one is very stable and does not bend on larger branches. Great addition to the shed.

These loppers are top quality in every aspect, but really no better than my Corona loppers at half the cost (4 stars because of the price). If I was a professional landscaper and pruned trees for 4+ hours/day, these would be my go to loppers because of the excellent handle recoil bumpers. But for the homeowner or backyard gardener, Coronas will fit the bill. I've used my Coronas on rock-hard Arizona mesquite trees for years and they're still hard at work.

I am a professional gardener. These have become my favorite, easy to use, light weight cutting tool. Great to get into plants that have thorns and offer a great reach for a short person. Will use them always and buy replaceparts when I need them.

Been buying cheap loppers for decades. Finally decided I should consider a quality tool for a change. I did the research and this one was highly rated. I can see why. Japanese quality, lightweight, strong, well-designed. What's not to like? Probably the last lopper I'll ever buy.

An exceptional quality tool. The thin blade profile of these loppers allow a clean cut with very little resistance. Very little effort is required by the user to slice through branches. Outstanding balance and feel allows to work longer periods without getting tired. A pleasure to own and a joy to use. A well thought out design that is well put together. I highly recommend these!

Fantastic product from a reliably good Japanese tool manufacturer. These are sharp, lightweight and extremely effective leaving a nice clean cut every time. The blades can be sharpened and a little camellia oil ensures they're protected from rain! Highly recommend to anyone especially professional gardeners. These are no more expensive than the cheaper quality versions bought in diy stores but are far better quality.
