About this item

  • Eight input channels with individual level and pan controls
  • Pan controls place each input mono signal anywhere in the output stereo image
  • Balanced microphone XLR or unbalanced 1/4-inch TS inputs on each channel
  • Full +48V low noise phantom power switchable for each microphone input
  • Perfect for stage, studio and permanent installations

The ART MX821S is a versatile rack mount mixer combining eight independent input channels into a stereo line-level output. Each input channel accepts a balanced XLR microphone input or unbalanced 1/4-inch TS line-level signal and provides independent level and pan controls. +48 Volt phantom power may be independently selected on each microphone input. A master level control adjusts the signal output to the low-impedance balanced 1/4-inch TRS jacks. Prefade output (not affected by the master level control) and Aux Bus input RCA jacks allow patching of multiple units when more channels are needed. The ART MX821S may be used on stage, in the studio, or for permanent install applications including conference rooms, corporate boardrooms, churches, restaurants, small clubs, health clubs and more. A built-in power supply and single high 19-inch rack mount format allows for easy installation and reliable long-term operation.

I use it with my four piece acoustic band playing thru a Yamaha Stage Pass 600. With four vocalists, and four acoustic instruments with internal pickups using direct boxes to the PA, we simply had too many inputs for the Stage Pass mixer. This allows us to use the PA we have, and for a very small sum, easily plug everything in with XLR cables. It sounds great, does exactly what we need, and makes setup a snap. A real problem solver.

This is an excellent 1U stereo mixer for your top-of-rack IEM (in ear monitor) mixing.I am using this mixer to combine my guitar, on-stage stereo microphone, and FOH mix into a stereo mix for my wireless IEMs.Low-noise, plenty of headroom, easy to configure, and operate. I just works!

I got this mixer for my wireless rack because I occasionally do private meetings where I am tapping into the house sound system with a few mics, but don't need anything fancy. This works great! I have everything pre-wired and just have to feed their amplifier - easy in - easy out setup.

Just connecting this mixer to my power amp (with nothing connected into the mixer inputs) generates an audible hum. If I connect my guitar synthesizer or my guitar processor directly to the power amp, there is no hum from either. I was hoping use this mixer to be able to run them both simultaneously thru the power amp but the hum that the mixer generates is unacceptable.

I installed 2 in a church as part of an update to their system because of the flexibility. I was looking for a mixer that allowed using multipleixers without running the output of one mixer into an input on another mixer. It has been many years since I have installed a small, rack mount mixer. I was pleased to find there are some that can connect to the mix bus. I chose this brand for the reported quality and was pleased with the physical and audio quality. I thought that it also fit nicely into an existing system with a minimum of fuss. I was replacing an Edcor mixer that had been in use for 20 yrs. and I hadn't been able to find a suitable replacement with at least 10 inputs that would fit in a 1 or 2 rack spaces.

Works as advertised. Simple to set up and use. Great somebody still makes a basic 8 line stereo mixer.

This unit works as advertised but gets noisy on higher levels. White noise is very audible.
