The kids came in relatively quick order. The over all put together is simple: gasket inside lid, put the plug in the hole, fill it with your preferred fermentable (making hard cider), add the air lock and poof .. fermented amazingness in a couple weeks. Worth the time and money for a healthy snack or good wine 😉

Yeah, you gotta tend to the water level, and yeah, if your temps drop it is likely gonna suck water into your brine (not that you should ferment in temp swings, but I digress). But overall, this fixed my fermentation issues when my "water-free" airlocks either failed or allowed air in that ruined 3 large batches of sauerkraut. Sometimes you gotta stick with the tried and true solution.

These are great - and I'm happy to be able to get it put together as a set (a friend's husband drilled holes in some jar lids to make these, but I like being able to just get them put together).I currently have bread kvass fermenting - and it's working great.

All the parts were included, very similar to other sets I have seen. Parts appear to be good quality. No instructions with product. Going to share with son-in-law to see who really makes the best pickles!

A great little set, and all you need are six glass jars. You get six solid metal lids. With ten thick rubber seals for the inside. Then you get ten rubber seals for the holes in the lids. Then finally 6 plastic filters. If you have made wine then you will be aware how these things work. A little water in the filter, and soon you will see bubbles being produced from whatever you wish to ferment.I have many different vessels for fermentation, and various lids and air locks. These seem great. Currently, I have some kim chi bubbling away. For £15.99 these are great value. Easy to clean and sterilise. Simple to use. These are great - and I'm happy to be able to get it put together as a set (a friend's husband drilled holes in some jar lids to make these, but I like being able to just get them put together).I currently have bread kvass fermenting - and it's working great.

I am an avid pickler. I'm sure that's a term anyway. But have only recently began venturing into the fermentation side of preservingFermentation can be done without these kits, but it does make it that much easier(and safer). You dont need to worry about burping your jars, something that can cause the jars to explode if you forgot and sealed, or didn't release the built up gasses in time. You will just need to replace your mason jar lids, with these new ones while you are fermenting. You can continue to use them if you wanted to once you have reached your desired level, or you can replace them back, and then continue your fermentation journey by reusing them again.I cannot fault these for the price. If you had the jars and these lids, you would be paying 4/5x the price.
