The small box that it’s attached to is very handy for containing the fragments while cracking nuts. The nut cracker in also adjustable and that’s is another plus.

This wasn't as heavy duty as I thought it was. Didn't Crack my black walnuts very well.Works great for other nuts.

Works fine for it's intended purpose. Unfortunately the wood base is trash. The material is too thin and soft. So thin that the screws holding it in place were necessarily too short and worthless for support. I had a thicker piece of wood in my garage and upgraded to slightly longer screws and that fixed the issue completely. I was able to work through about 6 gallons of pecans with no further problems. The picks were a nice addition.

poor quality, screws were not intact when it arrived. I took a screwdriver and secured screws but with the first attempt to crack a small pecan they all popped out. Much smaller than standard nut crackers of this design. Would never buy again. no value for the money

I use this to crack pecans (replacing an older nut cracker).I really like the box. By placing a towel/paper towel over the top when I crack the pecans, all the shells stay in the box. I used to only crack nuts outside, but now I can inside without making a mess.The biggest issue is that the handle is too short for pecans (as it is on almost all nut crackers). A longer handle would provide more leverage, making it easy to gently crack the nuts so they stay in halves. The handle is just under an inch wide, so a 2 foot pipe with a 1 inch inner diameter fits nicely over the handle, allowing me to crack pecans much more easily. I love the design that gives you a large lever and a stable platform to crack nuts n a very controlled manner. Even young children can easily crack walnuts with it. Adjusting the gap for the nut helps to ensure you are pressing down the lever when cracking.The construction is not sturdy enough to crack macadamias, but works fine with regular walnuts and hazelnuts.
