Tried it on flex cuffs and works great. Blade is protected and concealed when not in use. Comes in handy for regular zip ties too. I recommend having this tool on hand with all the unrest going on. You could find yourself being flex cuffed or zip tied by home invading criminals, rioters or unfriendly visitors, this could assist your escape and may save your life. Very small tool. Can keep it in a pocket or on a key chain.

I've owned a Scarab since ASP first introduced the product. They have always worked flawlessly and I've only had to replace them due to loss or owner induced damage. The new model has a spring in the mechanism that makes one handed use much easier as it returns the Scarab to the open position after cutting. Great little product.

In general, I avoid using flex cuffs, I even carry 2 extra pairs of cuffs on my heavy vest just to avoid using flex cuffs. But sometimes, when we work with swat or narc on ops, they just zip up everyone with those stupid plastic cuffs. This cutter works on all types of flexcuffs, easily cutting them off without having to worry about hurting the suspect on accident. The key ring location sucks...There’s no way to attach it to my heavy vest....And it feels like it can be easily broken if used by someone who doesn’t know how it works (don’t hand it off to someone, they will break it)All that aside, it’s a tool made for it’s job and worth the few bucks it cost, if you serve warrants...

It's sharp, compact and I think the only of its kind so no competition.

Small, light, and super easy to use. Tried a few other items before buying this, each with their own problems. Will never use anything else!

I ordered this overpriced little tool because the disposable cuff cutters issued to my unit (and all our tac teams) are the scissor style snips. The problem with scissor style snips is that you can not operate them with one hand unless you are willing to risk the safety of the subject wearing the cuffs. They require two hands and unless you want to spend 3 minutes making several attempts to sever the cuffs correctly, they also require some focus. In a tactical environment the only tool that should require focused, two-handed operation is a firearm (in my opinion). All of the other reviews are correct, the key ring is useless. I don’t care - because I can make a clean, safe cut through any disposable cuffs in less than 10 seconds, using one hand, and without having to look down.I keep it in one of the little zippered pockets on the forearm of my shirt. The truth is that if it cost $4.99, as it should, I would have had to replace it multiple times already. But it’s stupid expensive, so I don’t loose it or abuse it.

Schnelle und problemlose Lieferung, und vorallem besser in der Handhabung, als der alte dienstliche Cutter.

Quality materials in construction but not a very smooth deployment or closure mechanism. Basically you pull down on the legs to ready the cutter but often one leg is shorter and you have to pull at it again or even more annoying is the legs interfere with each other upon closing and need to be offset in depth to shut. It's over priced but it does do it's job so I guess for a one time purchase it's fine.

Yes it cuts the disposable cuffs well but candidly its just another piece of kit to lose. I keep it in my duty bag and usually just end up using my Leatherman Raptor to cut off cuffs
