The assembly fixture made the rebuild of my Ford 9" N-case limited sip differential infinitely easier than trying to do the rebuild on the bench, which I have done 3 times previous. I put the fixture on my engine stand. That made it easy to spin the pumpkin around when fitting the pinion flange spacers and when setting the backlash. The fixture is very well designed, robust, and fit my engine stand perfectly. I did not use the bench mount. If using an engine stand, the 'collar' (tube on the stand that normally holds the engine adapter plate) inner diameter needs to be slightly greater in than the 2.5" fixture outer diameter. My engine stand collar inner diameter is 2.52" and had an internal weld bead that I ground down with a dremel tool to enable the fixture to freely fit the ID. Additionally my engine stand collar is about 4.5" long, just enough to properly mate with the fixture. The collar length could be longer but not much shorter.

I used this product for installing an ARB air locker into a Toyota 8 inch 3rd member. This tool is designed to fit a Ford 9inch. The manufacturer didn't seem to have a version of this fixture for Toyota 3rd members, so I made a couple of short adapter bars.It works great though! Plenty stiff. I was worried it would be flimsy, but it isn't! A nice addition to the kit would be adapter bars for different common 3rds and a cam lock lever for locking the pivot rotation instead of a simple bolt

This is a strangely made tool. The tubing that supports the weight of the differential, is only 14-gauge mild steel. The same type of material bathroom fixtures are made from. However, the rest of the fixture is built like a Mack truck. Massive brackets with great welds. Don’t know what they were thinking using such flimsy material for the tube section.

I have rebult a lot of 9 inch rear ends--wish I'd bought this years ago.
